can't run WreckMP because it is hardly uncompatibile with Proton and DXVK (game can't load any mods)

Enjoyed it for about 70 hours on Windows (bleh), but I can't live without steering wheel support.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" gamemoderun %command%
I tried to get my steering wheel working (G920), but due to Logitech's terrible support, I'm still looking for an answer.
G920 not working.
It's written in some version of C++ but visual, and is poorly optimised. This has (mostly) nothing to do with Proton.

> Would a typical gamer enjoy playing this game on Linux as you've played it? I'm not sure anyone can enjoy this game, but it does work.
Full screen didn't work, played in windowed mode (i'm using i3wm, so your milage my vary, no pun intended)
Not sure if i'm doing anything wrong but I couldn't use the water scooper thing on the hot rocks in the sauna. Was able to pee on it though.

It's playable.
I was getting a solid 20 FPS no matter what graphics preset I chose or what settings I changed. Could just be my setup, though.
I was experincing crashes when entering the main menu but If you let the news load in then enter the main menu it'll work just fine.

Everything works with no problems but mods. If you want to play with mods, you'll need to follow a special guide on how to install them as they're not plug an play like the core game. There could be even problems with proton versions, but I didn't test it that much.\n
When it comes to the core game, everything works perfectly, maybe even little better than on Windows. There's a thing I don't know if its because of linux, but when you run the game, there could be issues on loading the changelog of the game from the internet. My internet works without problems, so it's not a connection issue. This thing doesn't affect anything, so I won't include it as a linux flaw.

Runs exacly like windows. Hit start and start playing.
Game runs with no problems ootb, WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" is only needed for modding.

Mouse clicks not registered full screen for New Game button
I could only click 'new game' if I set the resolution to 1024x768, otherwise it just blinks up and down but does nothing. The car colour choice buttons do work at all resolutions.
Note that I am using Niri, a wayland compositor, with xwayland-sattelite. Other games seem to be ok but it is still quite an experimental setup.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%
Launch options only necessary for installing mods

Works perfectly. Same or better performance.

Windows saves didn't load (or appear)
Laggy

Running fine out of the box.
Running perfectly fine. Gamepad input works as well.

Works perfectly out of the box when playing with keyboard or controller.
Does not work with steering wheels.
Could not manage to get it working with a steering wheel. The pedals and steering axis' are broken. When trying to calibrate the game crashes. Cannot rebind anything, it does not detect any pedals.
I'm using a Thrustmaster T300RS GT wheel with the hid-tmff2 kernel module.

Logitech G29 wheel + h-shifter + truck knob only works with this version of proton, other versions just don't detect the controllers

Everything else works, just as it did on W11. Game is also compatible with my 21:9 monitor. Game works on both my iGPU and my dGPU (4060m)
The only minor issue is that the glorious Finnish swears sometimes refuse to load, depends on your audio device though. I am using a pair of bluetooth headphones in this case. Headphones do work fine elsewhere though.

Works just fine out of the box. No tinkering or problems here at all.
Works just fine.

If you dont need wheel support and or mods the game runs fine without any tinkering, if you want wheel support switch to 6.3-8

Sometimes after alt tabbing the screen goes black and I have to click inside of the game window then outside and inside again then it works fine
The wheel support is buggy after you set it up it work fine but its not bound by default you have to switch to older proton version otherwise it brakes quite often
The Mod launcher has experimental linux support but after trying it its quite buggy, the textures get glitchy the wheel support breaks and it crashes quite often, the base game runs fine tho

Game got to early access warning screen, crashed on main menu
I tried various different proton versions and I could always get to the EA screen but when i clicked continue the game would crash on the main menu. I have also tried with and without different launch options and they didn't seem to do anything.

My Summer Car on Arch Linux with Proton 9.0-2 runs the same as Windows with my hardware. Sometimes it runs better than Windows
Problems: I didn't see any problems with compatibility and stability
Summary: I recommend running it with Proton 9.0-2 on Arch Linux

If trying to use mods, use this guide (https://github.com/piotrulos/MSCModLoader/issues/123) instead of official native version, it is very buggy For MSCEditor add it as a non-steam game and run through proton, you'll have to search around for the savefile but its not that hard after you get a hang of it

switching to another window sometimes caused the game to become unresponsive and my progress of the session being lost.
Force feedback on my thrustmaster wheel only worked in proton 4.11-13
I had to switch to proton 4.11-13 to get my thrustmaster t300 to work properly. On newer versions the game ran fine and even better than this older version, but when trying to map my wheel only half of the range would work. After a lot of troubleshooting I got the full range to work, but force feedback was still broken.
4.11-13 is the only version that I tested where my wheel worked fine out of the box including force feedback and my thrid party usb H-shifter. This version however causes issues when switching windows which could cause the game to become unresponsive and progress to be lost as I could no longer save with the game being unresponsive(no auto save feature).
Overall it's a pain to get the t300 to work properly, but if you play with keyboard and mouse everything works including mods. To get mods to work check the pinned issue on the github of mscmodloader.

There is that weird glitch that causes rear wheels to go to the "turbo mode" when holding/pressing handbrake button. Game has not been modified in any way, and it only happens on Linux.

Game runs perfectly, gamepads work as they should. Logitech G29 wheels need tinkering doe. For support switch to Proton version 6.8.3
Steam overlay is not working on Proton 6.8.3
Only input problem was my Logitech G29 where to fix it I needed to switch to Proton 6.8.3
For logitech wheel use Proton 6.8.3

No problems

The game runs good, but have some problems runing in Linux, specially if you have a poor PC like me, It's better run My Summer Car in Window
Slow FPS, in fullscren or windowed
Low response to the keyboard, and the game runs in 20 fps in any grafical option
The game has a lot of bugs, but i don't belive its because of linux or proton.

The "flat" trees have wired textures
Mouse is always visible
Steam cloud is not supported
Any proton configuration isn't working for me, so I had to use "native mod loader" (i don't remember how it is called), and the game works fine, there are only 2 issues, with mouse and textures, but they don't make the game unplayabe, since im playing it on linux it works better than on windows (i have like +50 fps, and they are really stable), and what can i say?... its so stable, and i enjoy playing it :D

Yes, to get modloader I used the guide: https://github.com/pio and i did some tinkering with it eventually worked
gamemoderun %command%
Since My Summer Car is a not really optimized i was expecting it to be bad as the windows gameplay but has actually improved when I used Linux mint
Overall it works with mods too!

I even installed mods. However, the official modloader tutorial for Linux doesn't work, as it breaks mouse and makes the game lag.
gamemoderun %command%
On Hyprland, leaving the windowed mode setting on launches the game in windowed, but clicking on the button under the early access notifier makes the game fullscreen. The same happens when disabling windowed mode but the other way around.

I used MSCModLoader as it now has native compatibility, then, in the game properties, you can select either MSC (Native) or MSC+Modloader (Native) https://github.com/piotrulos/MSCModLoader/wiki/Official-experimental-linux-support

Cloud saves in this game aren't functional and some people states that is better to disable them on Linux
For mods support I followed official MSCLoader guide: https://github.com/piotrulos/MSCModLoader/discussions/135 and changed Proton to 5.0-10 as mentioned (I had several issues with newer versions). They work like a charm.

Crashes after start
Starts normally, as soon as I hit play, a window appears then the game crashes.
It runs better on linux than on windows. Runs perfect right out of the box, no problems at all

Just install and play.
One and only problem was installing mscloader. I couldn't make it

Even with everything at its lowest settings, the game can only hit maybe 30fps.
If you try to focus another window, switch desktop etc, the game fullscreens, goes black, and freezes until you force-quit it.

fun game linux will buy for your hole family, you can pee on people too!!

Игра использует всего 30-50% GPU, из-за чего фпс ниже, чем должен быть
Игра работает из коробки и работает без каких либо проблем, но если вы захотите поиграть с модами, то установка modloader может вызвать трудности у новичков в Linux
