The game runs well and i fun, I however am only able to get the game to play correctly using Proton Versions 3.x with 3.16-9 being the reliable version. Anything newer will launch the game, but to a black window. The game is running and you can cycle through the menu but will not see what is happening. This might be only my system but the game runs great with Proton 3.16

The only graphical issue i have run into is reading books does does display text, its just a black screen.
The game has run well. I Have ~40 hours playing online with the only issue i have run into at all is being unable to read books as the texture/text for the books is black.A minor annoyance yes, but the game has been stable and enjoyable.
Runs like its native. Hope the get they co-op included soon.
Game runs perfectly with PS4 and XBox360 controllers.
I love the Jumping Flash games and this is a spiritual successor. Plays great using proton even used an xbox360 controller
With proton 6.3-5 there is odd poping pop-out of the trees that is not witnessed in Proton Experimental.
The game would not initially launch for me with Proton Experimental or any version of proton 6(including 6.3-5). I had to initially launch the game with a version of proton 5 to get the uplay connect software to launch so i could sign into of create a uplay account initially. After getting uplay to launch so i could sign in i was then able to launch the game using later versions of proton and play as expected.
I have not even tried to play the game under Windows. There is a little slow down running the game on high/ultra. Very playable.
One of the best SHMUPs ever is playable on Linux, I use a PSclassic USB controller and am able to map the buttons in settings with no issues. Plays great(locked at 60fps). Can play in fullscreen or a window, but you cant change resolution options, so fullscreen is suggest.
