Standard 40hz/40fps lock
Steam Cloud is saving GFX Settings so you get into trouble when switching from Desktop to Steamdeck.
Runs pretty ok OOTB. I used the settings recommended by CryoByte33 here in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx9sf47sB9o - which gave me a solid 40ish FPS, some drops when entering a new zone but nothing gamebreaking and visually its still really good. Battery will be eaten up in no time... ;)
I also switched to my Desktop from time to time and noticed that Steam Cloud is including the GFX Settings, with is not good for hopping between Steam Deck and your 4K Desktop.
I created a little shell script that replaces the file "graphicsconfig.ini" within the HZD Settings folder with the correct file for what ever device I`m on. So every time I switched the device, I ran the script, replaced the "wrong" ini with the correct settings and it was ready to go. Makeing the files readonly or anything like that did not work, as Steam will run into a sync error, ending up in not syning the save files at all. Just search for "graphicsconfig.ini" and you will find the file, its a very long path.
Make sure to install "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" via Steam Library
Fantasic expirience out of the box.
Make sure to install "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" via Steam Library. It worked flawless, no issues or connection problems.
My second report on Hunt: Showdown here on protondb, I actually did not need tp do any changes. Game runs smooth with the new Proton 8.01 version on steam out of the box, no tinkering involved. With Nobara FSYNC works without any problems as well.
Works pretty much flawless OOTB. I play exclusivly on Linux since the last 4 Months, and its running as good as on Windows.
Since the big Steam Update the Steam Overlay is not working and most of the times ending in a crash to desktop. I tried different Proton Versions but its not working reliable.
As mentioned many times, have the EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed
It does work OOTB for me, but with GE Proton its the best expirience and performance. I just recently deleted my windows partition, but Hunt runs as performant on Linux as it does on Windows. Steam Overlay is a bit of a bummer, but tabbing in and out works, so your partner needs to sent that invite. I have 400h overall and about 330+ on Linux, I condider this game stable. ;)
Did not notice any performance loss compared to windows, but I haven't been playing this game a lot (yet).
Easy Anti Cheat Runtime in Steam required. Joining a friend via Steam rightclick "join" is not working.
Works pretty good out of the box, Steam Overlay is not working, not sure why.
I just tested it, but it seems to work just fine. (it also works with GE8.03) Pulls arround 14W with 60Hz/60fps, guess there is a lot of improvement potential, as the GPU is arround 900 mhz.
The only setting I changed is under "Retro" > Pixelation to 100 as the standard 50 looks not good at the Steamdeck, on my Desktop its totally fine with 50. All GFX Settings unchanged.
There are FPS drops on Steam Deck which are noticeable if there are a lot of projectiles and ememies on screen. Did change my settings to the values mentioned below, it helped to stay between 40 and 55 fps, even if the screen is full with enemies.
Intro seems to be bugged on Linux & Steam Deck, but you actually dont miss anything. :) I changed my setting on Steam Deck to the following:
Screen to 55 hz via Steam Deck Menu - Resolution: 1280x800 - Resolution Scale: 100 - V-sync: On - Gore Pool Size: Medium - Anisotropic Filtering: 8 - Ambient Occlusion: On - Material Quality: Medium -
Retro -> Pixelation:100 It looked better on the Steam Deck than the standard 50
Some Music Tracks seems to be missing sometimes
Easy AntiCheat Runtime must be installed
40hz/40fps as usual
It felt like not all music tracks are playing correctly.
Make sure to install AntiCheat Runtime
Settings on Low, disable Motion Blur and Lensflare, lowered the sliders for 5 each (Max Ragdoll, Decals etc) , Got a very solid 40ish FPS and was able to play with friends. We even created a Steam Group and Voice worked as well flawless. Pretty good Expirience. I used Standard Proton, Experimental and GE8.02. Exp and GE gave me the best FPS, at least it felt like it, but all seems to work fine.
Perfect out of the box!
Runs flawless, with xone also perfect with XBOX Controller.
