Runs better than I remember it running on Windows (it was glitchy) years ago, but it might be due to the edition.
To enable audio:
sudo apt-get install winetricks
WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx winetricks --force xact
WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx winecfg
On the utility window that should have opened with the previous command, click on the Libraries tab. Enter xaudio2_6 in the box and click Add, and enter xaudio2_7, click Add, and set them both to native.

Works flawless after tweaking: https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/3220528325725350733/
It hangs every time when quitting and has to be forced. Otherwise works perfectly fine.
When the game seems to crash and displays TV color bars, toggling the super-key skips whatever is failing to load (I think) and the game resumes perfectly playable.
The game fails to load some animations; it seems to crash but toggling the super-key will skip the failed load and resume the game.
Regrettably, completing either or both of the first two paths won't unlock the third. One work-around that works is to use a borrowed saved game of the Changeling path. Saved games are located in /home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Pathologic Classic HD/Saves/
It crashes at the start on Proton Experimental. Went back to 6.3 and it worked perfectly fine.
Needs the unofficial patch from https://www.moddb.com/mods/vtmb-unofficial-patch/downloads Easily installed double clicking on the .exe and looking for the folder where the vampire.exe file is located. In my case Z:\location _of_my_steam_library\steamapps\common\Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Runs better with and old Proton version like 3.16
It does not works out of the box, can't even start (Error dialog: available memory less than 15MB). But the fix is quite easy.
