Game launches and starts to load, but after about 20 secs it locks up
6.3-7 and experimental launch but lock; Proton-GE does not even launch
Game seems to run fine without any issues and does not require any tweaking or specific settings for me.
If controller disconnects while game is open it may need to be relaunched to continue using controller after reconnecting.
Controller inputs sometimes seem a bit "quirky"; sometimes a single press will go through as a double press (only navigation affected, no unintentional confirmations have happened to me). Could be frametime issues, but I've see no graphical issues so may be related to input polling.
With the latest fixes now playable including audio! The only thing not working is movies which must be disable to get the main menu to work.
Higher graphics settings have a performance hit in game (menu performance is unchanged). I find it best to just stick with the games default graphics settings
Players must launch the configuration tool and disable movies for the game to function!
Doesn't launch
Likely an issue with Denuvo. Tried latest proton and experimental
Overall gaming experience is great, going through hoops to get it to launch may be more than a basic user could manage.
Proton 6.4-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Launcher cannot be used, must directly launch the vulkan bin instead
Some users may need to goto the options menu and enable the mouse lag fix
On exit the application does not close cleanly; must be force closed through steam or other methods
Gets to the main screen, but EAC errors block login and loading the main menu, couldn't even change settings much less play local only.
If EAC for proton/linux ever gets enabled for this game it will probably run very well, but for now don't bother buying it since there's absolutely no garuantee that will ever happen.
Crashes to desktop after playing studio intros, but before loading main menu.
At one point I was able to play this game without issues for hours on end, but I no longer can. Could be a kernel/drive/game update that messed something up or maybe something with my wine conflicts now, who knows!
At the moment, however, Proton-experimental gives best results (even various proton-ge releases won't even get to the intros).
As long as controller issues are solved, experience is good!
Game seems to detect controller, but wants to use it as MKB emulation instead of as a controller, or even randomly switch between the two.
GE 6.13 seems to have fixed whatever issues were plaguing my game from getting beyond the launch intros. Also seems to have solved installation of distributables issues.
Seems to run without any crashing now on GE-Proton, but needs to be force stopped after quitting.
proton_use_d3d9=1 %command%
if you have problems with controller try setting the desktop mode to a controller layout
Using proton many will struggle to achieve 20 avg fps even on the lowest settings, but runs very well in native windows.
This game will run at significantly lower frame-rates than native windows. Battles are "playable", but the overworld experience should not be described as playable.
