Current version runs out of the box perfectly at max settings. Takes a minute to load launcher, but once done it's all seamless from there.
Installs fine, but launches to a blank window at a resolution/refresh rate outside the bounds of a rather good monitor.
Sadly unable to indulge myself with some Wii-era nostalgia. Launching with default, older and custom (GE) versions of Proton either fail cleanly - no window is ever created - or require a hard reset.
In the latter scenario, my monitor (1080p, up to 144hz) switches to an out-of-range error, requiring a hard reset, and, in my case at least, swapping my input between my (preferred) Displayport and HDMI ports to be able to return to a usable desktop. Wine's virtual desktop changes size but only swaps to a black window.
Use PROTON_USE_SECCOMP=1 %command% as a Steam launch variable.
Not using the listed variable causes a 24h ban as the purchase cannot be verified.
Restrict access to Squad's compatdata/Temp folder. See fixes in posts below.
Many link to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/938#issuecomment-655405271 but I found the steps listed were not necessary. As those below pointed out; restricting file rights in Squad's compatdata Temp folder should do it, along with downloading the correct EAC file from https://github.com/imaami/eac-tools.
Initially this did not work for me as Squad seemed to delete the EAC file on launch. However, this was easily circumvented by changing access rights to read-only (non-modify.) I'll report back if this causes issues.
Runs, but not in a useful manner.
Application features work perfectly, but attempting to manipulate the view and/or play a track results in large stuttering.
No executable launched. Freezes Steam client on 'launch.'
Native version expectedly works flawlessly.
