works ok, did set all graphic settings to maximum (Ultra or high) Looked ok in the started area.
akamai netsession did not install, launcher links seem to not work
PVP not tested It was network laggy on the server i tested, but not sure if the server or steam related.
does not work at all, small black screen and directly crash
according to winehq this game did run good (10years ago though) https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=24991&iTestingId=68746
Proton-7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-7.1-GE-2 to prevent not beeing able to login to the microsoft account
played for about 40min, freeze of screen in open world
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% /nolauncher
overlapping UI resulting in not beeing able to click on tiles in the planet development
partly Broken UI
changed proton version
Highest graphic settings are fine. I did not need specific Wine start options. Proton 4.11 and 5 did crash. I changed proton version to 3.16.9 and previously broken UI work, start option %command% /nolauncher to prevent the launcher from starting.
some screen flickering rarely
feels a bit slower than on my previous Win7 PC build, given my Hardware this should not be the reason.
might need to switch some video card options ingame or in the nvidia driver to get best experience.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
Steam Proton will work, but with the launcher visibility problem for me.
Game runs, but stardock Launcher will stay blank, so you have to figure out where the play button of GalCiv is.
Stardock Launcher stays blank
The play button in the completly blank Stardock Launcher is not shown by a changed mouse cursor, but you can help yourself by having a picture of the launcher, and estimate the position where to click.
For me in the KDE taskbar i had a small preview window of the launcher, which let me find the play button after a few minutes of trying.
Proton-5.21-GE-1, Vsync Off, and disable temp sensor monitoring of your videocard in the background.
some audio stutter
FPS drops from 120FPS
crashes which might be related to having vsync on auto, after switching to off no crashes anymore
game seems picky on proton version, for me best one running was Proton-5.21-GE-1
had to play the tutorial approx 20 times, annoying, but after doing the fixes above, no more crashes, and most of the FPS drops are gone.
