Everything works as expected, first time startup is a little slow.
Voicechat and multiplayer works like on windows
One time I was down to like 10 fps for 3 minutes, the Rest ran butter smooth.
I had 1 Crash, that I see no cause for. But only one.
The Voicechat , the most important part, worked, only a few problems along the Way.

Changed the following file to READ ONLY; ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/859570/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/GameAnalytics/IL2CPP Root Domain/ALPHANUMERIC_ADVERTISINGID_HERE/ga.sqlite3
Be advised, there is no directory called "ALPHANUMERIC_ADVERTISINGID_HERE" but there will be one directory containing the ga.sqlite3 database, I assume the directory name is randomized to create a unique advertising profile.
After changing this value only rare stuttering occurs, plays smooth otherwise.
I find the stutter unbearable. Chat is important for cooperation, it's non-existent via Proton. Am using GloriousEggroll, latest hotfix

Only if your friends dont mind using discord you'll have a good time. if you dont have friends to play this with then you wont enjoy it.
in game voice chat doesn't work. You cant hear others and others cant hear you.

Works flawlessly out of the box
Configure audio I/O devices in your distribution's settings, in-game only volume can be controlled
Game runs fine, but voice chat is a integral part of the multiplayer experience. The game feels empty without it.
In-game voice chat does not work
At least once I glitched through the floor of the map, but this may be a bug in the game itself.
using the command "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" allows you to load into the game instead of being caught in the loading menu, runs perfectly after.
Game works flawlessly, but unable to join the voice. I can neither hear or say anything in the voice chat.
When you are about to enter a Quick Play Game, you are just going to get an infinite Loading Screen.
