lowered fps to 60
character was sitting in a previous game, started a new game and he was in the same position

Set the refresh rate to 50hz
The game suffers from a well known Unity issue: although you can reach 60fps pretty easily, the camera and animations will update at 50fps, so the frameraye always looks (and even reads) as choppy. You can actually crank up most settings if you lock the Steam Deck's refresh rate to 50, and you'll get a very stable experience.

Set the refresh rate of the screen to 50hz
The game is built on Unity and has a known framerate issue tied to the engine. Camera movement and in game animations/physics run at 50fps, even though the game can reach higher framerates. No matter the settings, the game will appear has having stutters and frame spikes unless you set the screen refresh rate to a multiple of 50. Fortunately you can reach 50fps easily on Steam Deck even with high settings. You can limit the TDP to 12 to preserve battery life.

Added quicksave to back grip buttons
TDP limit to 12
Increase font size may help

It's a great game! I think there's some drama with the original developers not getting proceeds from the publishers now, so keep that in mind if you're buying the game new. You might wanna google that.
Changed max refresh rate of Steam Deck to 60Hz

TDP to 8W
Played the whole game on the deck, 60 fps with shaders and shadows at minimum (it doesnt affect much) and TDP to 8W to improve battery life. Dont use the trackpads when in a conversation as they are too sensitive and will move you to the top of your current conversation. If you want to see past skill checks use the touch screen. No issues apart from that, go play it!

40fps cap and reduced TDP to 8w
increased the font size to largest in settings

Works great! I recommend binding the tab key to the buttons on the back of your Deck to see items easier.
40Hz refresh rate lock, can be battery hungry without
Some text -- such as item descriptions -- is a bit small

Locked the refresh rate to 40Hz
Everything was in working order.

TDP 8W Limited screen at 40fps/40Hz
TDP limited at 8W - Screen locked at 40fps/40Hz
You can modify text dimensions by menu option
Runs perfect out of the box. You can squeeze a little bit more of battery life tinkering TDP and fps limit. Controller layout changed with one from community. Radial menu is genius.
Limited to 40fps
Weirdly power hungry - probably just a bit poorly optimised. Limiting to 40fps helps. Other than this, functions perfectly.
Increase the text size in the game settings and you're good to go.
in-game options let you rescale the text, so set it fairly high on the slider
selecting the right interaction point is a bit awkward, not sure how to improve this yet...
i haven't tinkered yet, but i think battery life could be improved with some reduced settings... it's not particularly well optimised, and certainly doesn't need to be 60fps for this style of game
tdp 8
changed the refresh rate of the display to 40Hz

Installed through heroic launcher, no issues from there except one random reported bug according to the game, but I didn't notice anything.
Heroic launcher

Must-have on steam deck with community controls with wheel under the left trackpad for answer numbers
Adding community control layout with answer wheel

This dialogue heavy rpg shines on the Steamdeck, great controls, the option to make menus & dialogue larger, runs well and looks gorgeous to
One of the best games to play on the steamdeck in every area, if you own this game it is time to reinstall to have this classic on the go and if you don't have it, buy a copy this is one of the best ways to experience the game
Default text is small, but there is an option to increase the text size.
Works out of the box without problems. The fan spins like crazy in some areas, but there are no problems with the game itself.
Was able to play the game from start to finish without running into any major game breaking bugs. For transparency, I did run into a bug after the climax where I lost all moral and the game soft locked before the conclusion, had to load up an older save to fix. I do not know if this bug is present when playing on Windows, but it's easy to avoid. The quick resume feature works, game looks great, text is fine. If anything the battery life could be better and there are probably ways to increase it, but I didn't do any tinkering for this one Overall though enjoyed my time playing on Steam Deck.

8w tdp cap and 40hz fps limit
Epic login appears but can be backed out of with no issues
