Doesn't work with latest Ge or proton (GE-Proton7-45) but it works with Proton-6.18-GE-2 out of the box and I've been able to go through most of the game as of now at least.
Still Unable To Launch Game After System Wide Update!
-screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080
Since it had been awhile since I did a system wide update to my system, in an effort to fix issues regarding this game, I updated my OS, which I am now on kernel 5.15, and then I updated my Nvidia GPU driver, I am now on 5.25. The Steam APP has also been recently updated as well. I tried several PROTON versions, including the GE 7-36.
I go to launch, black box shows, then I got a new error saying that it wasn't able to fullfill a resolution request. I figure, old game, it must not have support for 4K. So I setup launch options -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080, and while I no longer seem to get an error dialog, the game just opens to a black box doing nothing.
Looking at my terminal window, it confirms its still not able to handle my resolution request. I think that White Day suffers from serious lack of support, the developers clearly have no interest in Linux support. If PROTONDB can make this game run with an updated PROTON role out, it will be a miracle. I don't think there is anything more I can do at this time.
I paid 30 bucks for this game on Steam, so I really hope the awesome folks at PROTONDB can fix this!
Unable to launch game...
Shows a black box, then proceeds to crash with "something went wrong error" Running steam in terminal, shows that the game is throwing fallback handler can't load symbol messages. Tried several Proton versions, none of them seem to get the game to launch. Borked.
There's problems with screen tearing with Fullscreen and borderless windowed modes, but otherwise it runs like a native Windows game.
There's a LOT of screen tearing in this game, and there's no vsync options either. It only seems to be noticeable when fullscreen is on. When off it seems to disappear, but using borderless windowed brings it back again. This isn't a Proton issue as, from what i've read it also happens on Windows as well, but there seems to be solutions available to Windows users. It's just something to be aware of on linux.
Found no issues
Works out of the box, finished 1 time without a single problem.
Works like a native game

Works without problems out of the box. One previous report I think described screen tearing, but I did not notice any.

Runs perfectly out of the box, but sometimes on fast run I can see sharp movements.
