Definitely playable but some lighting problems occur while playing
Lighting switched between having shadows and having no shadows randomly and sometimes depending on where I look at
I used ALVR to connect to my Quest 3 wirelessly

Missing 2 of the 8 activities is a big gap in content. What's there is fun, but if you can play on Windows instead, I'd recommend it.
My Valve Index visuals seem worse on my Linux drive than my Windows drive, though it might just be my imagination.
Crashed when trying to play Robot Repair or The Shop.

If you manage to get Steam VR running it runs fine.
The game runs just fine. The real problem is getting Steam VR running. With a Ouest 2 it's very hard and requires making a Meta developer account and installing ALVR.
If you have a Meta headset I would recommend sticking to Windows. VR is the only reason why i still keep a windows install on my PC.

obviously not working

Sometimes it crashes randomly. It crashes consistently in Secret Shop or Robot Repair.
Update for my review from 3 days ago:
I noticed that it actually crashes when loading Secret Shop or Robot Repair as other reviewers say. Besides that, the rest of the game is playable and it works as expected, but sometimes it crashes undexpectedly at random.
Had to use GE-Proton8-16 since other versions of Proton don't show the buttons. GE-Proton8-23 and latest Proton crashes when entering the lab.
Played with Quest2 through ALVR.

Can play the full game and it works as expected. Had to use GE-Proton8-16 since other versions of Proton don't show the buttons. I think this is a good benchmark game to see if VR works on your machine (I'm running a Quest2 through ALVR). It's a fun game too :D
Works very well in general.
Crashes when loading Secret Shop or Robot Repair.
It's a pity not all the experience work, but the ones that do perform very well and are a lot of fun. Tried with Valve Index.
Mostly works. Two of the labs are unplayable, but that's not unique to Linux
Very rare... I think only one time
Robot Lab and Secret Shop crash everytime, but I believe that also happens on Windows
- SteamVR
- Valve Index with controllers
- Seated
Crashes when entering Robot Repair and Secret Shop
Most Games are playable. Robot Repair sadly crashed

It doesn't work out of the box, or with the other proton versions I tried
Forced Experimental and Proton-GE
The first time I tried to run, it frooze the whole computer while building the vukan shade. I had to restart
Most games do work and atleast longbow is one of them :) Robot Repair sadly does not work.
Performance in the selection level is a bit hit or miss, but the mini games itself run fine
Robot Repair and Secret Shop do not work, they just get stuck at the loading screen. After that you can't close the game anymore, because SteamVR thinks no game is running for some reason.

Lame that valve doesnt even make their own games work on Linux
Always crashes after loading
Very low FPS
Some Levels are not playable. Game freezes.
Crashes at certain levels
doesn't work at all
In the main lab and "labs" very low fps (and because of that - jerky movement of camera, very unpleasant)
Doesn't work for some reason with 6.3+ proton
Takes about 5mins to load (might be bc of my very old hdd? but other people reported something similar). but it works great

Takes about five minutes to load in. After that game the game is unplayable, To the point it makes you sick.
Tested using HTC VIVE and proton 5. 13-2
Takes a long time to load but otherwise works great.
Tested with valve index.
The loading screen appeared, and it stayed there for hours.
Takes a few minutes to open the first time. Robot repair and secret store don't work.
As mentioned by other comments, secret store and robot repair crash.
The first load of the game is very slow. Took a few minutes to open the first time, much faster on subsequent runs.
Fun VR mini games
Works on Fedora 31 and Valve Index.
Some of the mini games works other just crash the application when launching them.

The game runs initially, and can get into one of the experiences and complete it, but hangs when loading back to the main factory thing. Had to kill the process to close it. Tried on and off again so playtime looks longer than it should.

A great showcase for VR. Works well

Starts and runs, but does crash entering robotrepair and secretshop. Tried on vr beta and the situation is the same. Other than that the rest seams to work reliably.

Even with the latest SteamVR beta, this title does not appear to be fully functional. While some of the worlds work (ie. archery, arcade machine, mountain hike, etc..), there are some that result in crashing, like robot repair.

The issue making this unplayable was fixed in the recent SteamVR 1.7.2 beta. Stages load in less than a minute, which is a little slowly, but nothing like it was with prior SteamVR versions. It might have been that slow on Windows too, but it has been so long that I forget. Returning to the pocket universe 8 lab is quick, unlike in the past. I tried several of the experiments and they all worked well. I am rating this Platinum because I don't see any bugs here. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamVR-for-Linux/issues/148

Basically runs perfectly (HTC Vive, index controllers). The only issues are rather long loading times (I think still below a minute though) and once you open the dashboard the game stops working. It looks like the game pauses on opening it and never un-pauses. It renders just fine but time is stopped and the controllers are gone.

it will always either crash immediately or load forever.

Loading takes upwards of 5 minutes the first time each area is accessed. This is an issue with multiple games.

I don't get further than the Valve logo in 3d. After that it seems the application is stuck in loading and not responding.

Takes minutes to load each scene. It's CPU-bound, even with a hard drive.

Loading times take a couple of minutes between scene transitions even on an SSD. A bit framey after loading in but this tends to clear up and fix itself after a couple of seconds of play. The main hub sometimes peaks at 13.2ms. Everything else seemed to run around 8ms.

Runs but crashes often. Loading times are very long. It'll often hang on a scene change, I think this is related to video memory.

Stutters, but is playable. All load screens take a really long time. Robot Repair doesn't work.

Runs at good framerate on my Vive, which is an improvement. However, the load screens take a long time and sometimes it never returns from load screens. I played the archery game and walked around that mountain area with the dog.
