FPS drops a little, but it's much better than when running this game in native, for which the FPS tanks even on the main menu.

Initial launch windows requires use of the touchscreen to use.
Linux version has some weird issues when playing the game after the first time, running the game under Proton gives me no issues!
The native Linux version worked fine the first time I launched it, but when it came to the second time, there was a significant issue where the game would not render new frames until going to any menu and the retry screen. Windows version worked perfectly fine!

Works, but has some some objects have the wrong color.
Lasers are white instead of red
A few objects seem to have the wrong color. For example, lasers are white instead of red. However, this does not interfere with the gameplay at all. I might not have noticed if I hadn't seen this game running on Winows previously.

Takes a long time to start up
Disable anti-aliasing to disable motion blur (not a linux thing, just something weird with the game itself)
Had to force latest Proton to play.
Trying to play the native version only showed a black screen. When using the latest Proton, the game opens and takes about a minute to load the main menu. Aside from those issues the game runs perfectly fine.
Played the whole game on Linux without any problems. Native version (OpenGL) works good, but performance is lower than on Proton (Vulkan).
Mouse did not work on Proton GE7.18-1. After forcing experimental it worked flawlessly.
Enjoyable experience.

Works better than native version
Native version not opening in Steam and show "SIGABRT" error when i try to launch in terminal. I think it's due to my gpu's lack of Opengl 3.3 support.

I've ran this game Natively for years and i do not understand why people are saying the native version breaks. Regardless the reason i'm using proton is because i am a GUI file manager kinda guy and i am OCD about my folders. This games natively makes a "my games" folder in the home folder and its annoying and unnecessary. This fixed that for me. The game runs just as well as native for me and i even get a few more FPS.
Many people here say native doesn't work but it worked perfectly fine for me! No issues at all.
Proton provides workaround for broken Linux version.
With the native Linux version, I could only get as far as the level select screen, and then the graphics completely glitched out on me when I actually tried to play. Meanwhile, Steam Play with the latest version of Proton works perfectly.
Native version does not run well
Native version did not get past main menu with distorted graphics with mesa 18.2.x. With mesa 19.3.3 the problem is gone but performance isn't great. Recommended to force Proton as the compatibility tool as it runs much better (60+ fps vs 100+ fps).
