Sadly, the age of this game puts it in that awkward point where joystick implementations were fiddly and don't translate well to modern controllers via dosbox, and I can't forsee that changing in the near future, so I'll have to return to this gem in a couple of years or so to see if it's playable on modern hardware without too much hassle.
As it currently stands, the joystick makes even the menus difficult at best, and would makeflight controls impossible, even ignoring the slideshow cutscenes

Sort of worked, but crashed to desktop when starting most missions.
Using the "Special Edition" launch option, I can play some of the training missions, but as soon as I try to start a "real" mission (either the historical missions or the story missions) the game immediately exits to desktop. The Classic launch option I get inconsistent results, but can't usually get past the initial menu. The CD-Rom edition launch option is very laggy and doesn't work any better than Classic.

Worked fine out of the box.

Game runs perfectly. It comes with 2 different versions, the "Classic" and the "collector's CD", the second one lags badly, but the Classic one runs perfect. Great game, would love to see a more "native" version since it runs via DOSBox.

While testing the game, no problems nor glitches occurred. The Logitech controller worked out of the box automatically and accurately.
