wine staging required c++ redistributable, other proton options would only display a TV test screen, but it worked with Wine-GE-Proton8-26 with the argument -d311

Works fine with AMD too
Works fine with no tweaks

Works OOTB

Occasional crashes, otherwise ok
Occasional crashes
The usual occasional crashes I see with all Unreal Engine based games...

My issue with the strange lag after 30 to 60 mins of play, may have been due to another change Steam did. I discovered a few other games also have the issue now. Including native Linux games which weren't affected the last time. But I found the fix. I still use the same launch options. But the fix this time is to also have the Steam Overlay enabled in the Steam options for the game.
This strange lag issue that Steam created is apparently fairly common. Hopefully this info will help anyone else who runs into it.

Debian 12, using nvidia proprietary 535.216.01, forced Proton 9.0-4 because experimental does not work. Work with an old GeForce850M
nouveau opensource driver does not work

works just fine
Whenever I play a game, I put my CPU in performance mode. This makes everything run even smoother. In this game, I activated DLSS. This gives the best performance with the best graphics.
Intro videos did not play under Proton GE, had to switch to experimental. Then it worked flawlessly
No issues, runs smoothly, with no fps drops. Also no problems playing long online sessions with friends.

vcrun2022
Perfect for hosting a game
This is the Epic version, not the Steam version, which I plan to buy.

It work fine but some problems while connection to friends
Some textures load slowly
Joining friends requires several attempts

I've been playing on and off for maybe a week now. (all single player) The only issue I've run across is one where after 30 to 60 min of playing, the video gets choppy when moving the mouse. I ran into this issue before with all Windows games. It was due to a change Steam made in Nov 2024. The fix is to have LD_Preload="" %command% in your launch options. That works for all my games, except for this one for some reason. (Note: %command% always needs to be at the end of your all of your launch options, if you have it in the launch options.)
Quiting and restarting the game resolves the issue. And thankfully the game is quick to restart. So this hasn't been a huge issue. If I was playing multiplayer, it could be a huge pain though.
The only other thing that I'll add is that I use these Mesa video drivers. They've worked well for me. They are bleeding edge, but you get raytracing and such in games that support it. https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers

Multiplayer just does not work. Cannot connect to servers.
Game doesn't launch without switching to older Pronton version. But then I could launch, view the opening cinematic, and play the first bit of the initial tutorial.
Feels less choppy when forcing DX11.
Have tried everything and cannot get multiplayer to work. Have been getting the error message (tried off and on for months):
"Failed To Connect Unable to connect to online services. Please try again later."

I installed the game, and the launch options I used were the usual that I use now for games that I assume use Vulkan. I've also maxed out the graphics settings. Only played for maybe 10 to 15 mins, but so far there have been no issues.

If you don't play with Proton-GE, you won't be able to get past the intro, because there's no video, just a white screen. But if you use GE, the game works like on Windows.

Running from steam on Arch, using ProtonGE is a requirement, otherwise your starting videos won't load and you can't skip them.
The game runs pretty much like it did when I played it on Windows, it's a bit sluggish here and there when you run it, but that's not Linux, that's the game itself.

manually installed c++ runtime
some effects (torches etc) flickering, out of zone not rendering from distance
some initial stuttering, same as friend on windows
used lutris and epic games launcher because it was free now

Video playback replaced with "Test card" like on TVs. AFAIK, there's only 2 videos at the startup.
Hoster was on Steam. Myself used Epic freebie with Heroic Games Launcher as guest.

Character textures (hair, armor) continuously blinking
Using Proton-Experimental, Main menu appeared with something like a testing screen with color bars. Also, cinematics not showing up (audio was correct). Fixed this by switching to Proton-GE 9-13
Even if you can run the game, the gaming experience is too bad with this problem. With flickering/blinking issues fixed, it would be playable.

(Epic version) Videos don't work and you sometimes have to start a session twice, but otherwise perfect
Seems to sometimes stutter a bit, but that might also be my hardware specs
Seems to sometimes freeze when starting a session. Process has to be killed and restarted.
Videos don't work for me. Installing vcrun2022 via winetricks made the studio logo intros appear, but none of the longer videos work, and the main menu background looks like a TV test screen.
Multiplayer worked fine for the 8 hours I've played it with 2 friends

Installed vc2022 with winetricks.
Probably due to shaders there were some slowdown in the beginning.
Got the game from Epic and got it working after some tinkering. Launching it vanilla got the white screen bug. Had to install vc2022 and use caffe-9.7 to get it working.

Played with friends and only the initial movie didn't play until I relaunched (windows has the same issue)
Multiplayer didn't seem to connect on the default Proton

overall the gameplay is enjoyable, despite minor issues. works great with proton GE, no issues with cinematics or multiplayer
-dx11
comes up with the low fps issue from time to time, lasting for a few minutes. alt tabbing and coming back sometimes fixes it
from time to time I have low fps lasting for a few minutes, then the problem is gone. Most of the time everything works perfectly. alt tabbing and coming back sometimes fixes it
white screen without proton GE, not able to skip or click anything either

Game doesn't launch without switching to older Pronton version. But then I could launch, view the opening cinematic, and play the first bit of the initial tutorial. Will update this report later when I start multiplayer with friends.
Feels less choppy when forcing DX11.

The game is enjoyable, if you can limit your sessions to 30 minutes or less. This appears to be a Steam Linux Runtime regression.
Since the Steam Client's game recording update, which included an updated Steam Linux Runtime, performance degradation occurs about 30 minutes after starting a session. Restarting the game restores performance. Forcing DX11 makes no difference.
While I'm not a fan of the Epic Store, the Epic Store version of this game does not suffer the performance issues seen with the Steam build.
Recently switched from Windows to PopOS! I was able to install, and carry on right where I left off, perfect so far!

Works, except cutscenes. Multiplayer works with GE-Proton9-13 (flatpak), tried with multiple other version but multiplayer borked.
Cutscenes are gone, shows just monitor test images, black/white/magenta etc.
launched out of the box, but no multiplayer. needs GE for multiplayer as of now. cutscenes borked with GE.

Decently stable 60fps on Low with in-game FSR on Quality. Can also go for 40fps by limiting it on the deck and Medium graphic FSR off
Text is a bit small in the deck's screen, but still readable
A lot of text is quiet small

Honestly a great game, overall story, effects, building. love the game. feels a bit like its missing some QoL for PC (ui scaling)

Can't connect to my friend to play multiplayer
I was unable to get it to launch without forcing Dx11. -DO NOT install on anything other than main drive. installed multiple versions of proton before it worked.
no issues since.

Works out of the box
Install and go, no special treatment needed.
Works fine

Works perfectly out of the box, no tinkering.

protontricks 2933130 vcrun2022

I didn't do any tinkering. I run the game with Proton Experimental which is my default. The game ran with minor issue with controller/on screen keyboard. I had to use a keyboard to enter custom name.
