Had no issues but does suffer some performance issues in the overword. Simple mod fixes it.
If you're ok with 20 FPS dips in the open world., it should be fine to run stock. You can download a simple ini config file that will disable RT or use a script like on the above github.
Simple -curl or .desktop option and it's done. Get 30 fps in the open world and up to 60 indoors. Looks fine and has been very playable.
The game default setting is low on steam deck, but the deck is capable to handle almost everything medium setting.

Works out of the box. Performance can vary from each location, can struggle to reach 30fps in open areas. Overall, still enjoyable
While many are complaining about the game being marked as "verified", it doesn't work that bad, and i still think it's deserved. Performance can vary a lot between different areas, in most closed areas almost reaching the 60 fps on low with fsr performance/balaced and frame gen, while on the same settings is at around 25fps in the open world. Overall is still playable, and doesn't require anything special, just works out of the box on standard proton.

Crashes are too annoying with auto save not happening often enough. I've also experienced bugs with NPCs not following correctly
Crashes seem to happen randomly when exiting buildings. Sometimes after trading a significant amount of items, other time completely random. Textures won't fully load in and music continues with fps dropping to 0 while loading the area then a fatal crash happens with unreal engine if I don't exit other times it'll freeze completely up and have to power down
Crashes cause more headaches than it's worth, somehow bugs are worse in a remake. At this point the original game is way more stable than this. Nostalgia points though.

Used modified engine.ini for FPS boost and bugfixes
Lowest graphics, FSR on MAX performance, FSR frame generation
Very unstable, Unplayable FPS

FPS doesn't hold at stable 30 FPS in open areas on low.
40+ feasible in certain extent on smaller initial dungeons (don't know about further in the game)
Simply can't recommend how it plays on Steam Deck right now.
I can possibly imagine some FPS gain if you tweak enough, but the graphics turn out so bad that I simply don't judge as worth it. That comes from someone that never cared to play more actual games on low settings as long as it is playable, but this game just turns out too ugly IMO.
In all honesty, if you're inclined to try to play the game with everything in the minimum plus some extra tweaks, might as well play the older version of the game. At least the old is stable and the graphics are just dated, not straight up horrible.
The game does list some additional contents and all, but I don't judge worth to play trough the game seeking this extra content under those conditions.

It's sort of playable but i wouldn't recommend it, reason being the lag spikes are just too massive to really enjoy the game
On the lowest settings with FSR Performance mode enabled, the game runs at roughly 30+ FPS, though it suffers from occasional lag spikes. Performance varies heavily depending on the area for example, fast traveling to the Imperial City Waterfront drops the framerate to 1 FPS for several seconds and the game remains nearly unplayable afterward due to persistent lag spikes. My Frames fluctuate between 25 and 8 FPS depending on movement speed and camera panning (possibly due to shader compilation? CPU usage spikes dramatically during these moments)
game was tested via Family Share on my steam deck, i also experimented with some settings but the laggs wouldn't go away.

Classic 30 FPS, given the hardware there's no need to push it further. With this settings we are sitting at ~22W outside, ~14W inside.

Add this mod on the engine.ini inside the prefix
Then add this lines to DISABLE LUMEN and FIX MOTION BLUR:
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0
[ConsoleVariables]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=2
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0.39 ; Shutter angle
r.MotionBlurSeparable=1 ; Makes the blur less grainy
r.MotionBlur.TargetFPS=0 ; 0 = automatic ||| will auto-adjust based on FPS. Leave it at 0
r.MotionBlur.Max=5 ; Maximum width of the blur in percentage of the screen size
- Steam deck Frame Limit 60FPS (60Hz)
- Allow tearing
- TDP limit to 14W
See below for in-game settings
Slight fps drops or stutters on zone loading, happens on any hardware, and the stutters where present on the original game
FPS can drop to 25 on open world combat, could be fixed disabling TDP limit but power drain would go through the roof.
My optimal Game settings:
- Fullscreen
- V-Sync: OFF
- Frame Rate Limit: 30
- FOV: 75
- Motion Blur: ON (With the engine.ini changes makes 30fps buttery smooth)
- Screen Space: OFF
- View distance: Medium
- Effects: Lowest
- Foliage: Low
- Shadow: Low
- Global Illumination: Lowest
- Texture: Medium (can be set to high)
- Hair Quality: Low
- Cloth Quality: Low
- Lumen HW: OFF
- Lumen Software: Low (Does not matter we disabled it completely on the engine.ini)
- FSR3: Balanced, or Performance, User preference
- FSR3-Sharpness: 30
- FSR3-FrameGen: OFF (Get that aberration out of my face)

Fixed to 30 FPS
Since release date, playing between Windows and Steam Deck (Linux) is borked because of OneDrive synchronization.
- By replacing the Engine.ini file with the one from the Nexus Mod link, graphic and framerate issues are solved. Also, by including the Mesa flag, the GPU is showing the frames instantly with theorical tearing (because it did not happen to me).
- Fix to 30 FPS.
- Each graphic option to Medium, but Software LumenRT to Low.
- FSR looks blurrier and can be slow; XeSS samples details better. In the case of chosing FSR, Frame Generation is not running well.
- In the case of playing in both Windows and Linux platforms, to fix the save data synchronization you just need to create a Oblivion Remastered directory link from OneDrive to the local one.

Everything so far 'just works' when you install and play.

Manually set GPU clock to 1600Mhz
Must set GPU clock override to 1600MHz otherwise there is significant slowdown as GPU doesn't automatically ramp up correctly - no other settings changed, increased framerate from 25-30 to 55-60.
FSR3 Native AA + Frame Generation on 60Hz runs reasonably well.
Do not use frame generation with reduced refresh rate as significant input lag of ~1s occurs.

Even with it set to have large text its a little tiny handheld
Game is super blurry using FRS on any setting, using XeSS seems to work better. The recommended graphics setting is not ideal, I had to turn down shadows and few other settings like global illumination down to very low. I love that its steam deck verified. Honestly, how much do you think it costs these companies to have that checkmark on launch when the game doesn't run as promised?
choppy, FRS is blurry on every setting (use XeSS instead) and on the recommended settings its hard to keep it above 28 fps
Lots of FPS dips to be honest, so far thats about it
Hopefully there will be patches that increase performance, but its a wonderful game and I'm so excited to play it again after spending most of my spare time thoughout middle school playing it. Also; I love that its steam deck verified. Honestly, how much do you think it costs these companies to have that checkmark on launch when the game doesn't run as promised, or in some cases, at all? idk Just thinking :3

Temper your expectations. I'd agree it has earned its "Verified" status, but the fidelity and steady frame rates aren't quite there.
Outdoors can look blurry with upscaling wich is pretty much required, tree leaves appear to flicker regardless if upscaling is used or not, tons of texure pop in and lots of objects are very fuzzy utnil you walk right up to them.
Stuttering in outside enviorornments
Just use default everything. FSR gives more performance outside of combat but XeSS apperas to keep more steady frames during combat, it just looks much worse.

35hz lock
30 or 35hz lock at deck setting, 60 fps lock at game, low setting and FSR performance. And get stable 30-35 fps

I would not recommend this game specifically for Steam Deck users now. As I'm writing this on launch day and it could be fixed.
Given that this is a Steam Deck I'm going to say this is a slight performance problem. The game struggles to run above 30 fps in the overworld on lowest settings, in the tutorial cave I was able to reach 50 fps.
I was only able to play this on Steam Deck to test it's proton compatibility. Everything appeared to work fine, but the GPU in the SteamDeck really struggled here.
