It's a fantastic city building game, which runs perfectly on Linux.
The only tip I have is for people that use 2 or more monitors on their PC, as is my case, because you'll need to open the game settings and activate a checkbox that says something like "anchor mouse to game window"; this will prevent that your mouse goes to another monitor when scrolling through a map in the direction of your other monitor.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
Did not launch at first when on the secondary hard drive. Moved to the main drive where my OS and also Steam is installed on, then it worked.
Just add launch option, then it works WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
The game first did not launch because it was on my secondary harddrive. Once I move it to my main SSD where my OS and Steam is installed it launched like a charm

I played it on Heroic Launcher through Epic Games

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
My sound worked right away but I used the audio workarounds anyway since the game did keep crashing
protontricks 242920 -q xact
Also set the game and my display to 60hz, it now works great
until the xact and 60hz fix, crashed upon loading; none so far
until the 60hz fix, occasional crashes; none so far
does need tweaking.

Steamoverlay in Banished sorgt dafür, dass meine CPU schwitzt. Alt+Tab sollten man sein lassen.

DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
Enabled "Graphics > Emulate a virtual desktop" feature in Wine configuration to solve the problem with alt-tabbing that was freezing up the whole system.
The sound was compleately missing. Installing "xact" DLL component with, for example, protontricks, solved the issue.
Works great after a little bit of tinkering.
few weird textures on fields
Game freezes computer when tabbing out of full screen game.
Computer freezes when tabbing out game, requiring a force restart.
Fullscreen causes freeze when tabbing out and back in, use window instead.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n.b" %command%
Banished has difficulty detecting my second monitor that's connected through HDMI and only detects the one connected through DVI. If you have a similar setup, run windowed mode and move to your correct monitor.
Can obtain a fullscreen effect with $mod+f if using i3.
Switched from PE to P5.0-10. Game would not launch with base PE/Steam settings

__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
crashed my whole laptop when going from fullscreen to windowed. fullscreen isn't even running in proper fullscreen mode
use commands above and keep it in windowed mode

Even works with mods.
Trading is compromised, unless you want to constantly oversell, since you can only increase amounts in steps of 20 due to issue noted below.
Locked 30 FPS
UI can be scaled via options for bigger text, though it appears a little blurry
The game does not take any input from the virtual keyboard, making trading unrealiable since you're only able to increase item amounts in fixed steps via buttons.
The game plays pretty much flawlessly and you'll get through the whole game just fine. Only the virtual keyboard not working properly is my major gripe. For some this might not be an issue.
If you are fullscreen it will keep stealing focus
Awesome experience, works really well!
Sound issue seems to be gone on Proton 7
If you're using multiple screens you'll want to enable 'Clip mouse to window' on Input settings in the game. I dont know if its a Linux bug or a feature of the game for multiple screen users. I rather prefer to alt-tab from the game instead of having my mouse leaving the game everytime.
The sound fix launch option was not necessary for me anymore. The game plays all sounds perfectly without any launch option on Proton 7 (which is the default on Steam as the time of writing). Just launch the game and be happy.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
Music is missing by default, to get it to work you have to edit launcher options
Before I knew there was a fix to the absent audio, I would enjoy this game without music. Though, there is a fix for that.
MANGOHUD_CONFIG=full,fps_limit=142 mangohud WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%' on launch options fixed it
just add audio lauch option and you are ready to enjoy this game
No issues noticed.
Needs 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%' on launch options to work.

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
changed from dx11 to dx9 in game settings to fix cursor issue

Proton-6.21-GE-2
Works fine on default Proton (6.21?) but without sound, 6.21-GE-2 fixes the issue.
Awesome, runs like a native one.

Proton-7.0rc2-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Title graphic gets cut-offed in the main menu and pause screen at my monitor's native resolution (3440x1440). Gameplay is unaffected.
Need to add
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
to the compatibility tab in properties
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
Audio does not work, however this can be fixed with the WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
launch options.
Steam does not register that the game has closed and will show you as playing it until you close Steam entirely.
Following launch parameter fixes the audio
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=”xaudio2_7=n,b” %command%
Mouse is a black square on DX11. Works fine on DX9.

Game is stable and shows great performance on my system. My only issue was the common audio problem that was resolved easily.
Required common work around to get audio to work initially

Audio doesn't work unless you add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
.
You can't switch windows.

Proton-6.8-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Audio was missing with default proton, used GE 6.8 instead.
Launch with WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%

Perfect other than the entirely missing audio.
Missing audio really isn't much of a problem as it makes the game very relaxing. Honestly wasn't sure that game had audio and had to check elsewhere to check if it did. Works perfectly otherwise out of the box.
No audio, and whole system will freeze if I try to switch windows (alt+tab) or desktops (ctrl+super+arrow).
No audio at all
Trying to switch windows (alt+tab) or switch desktops (ctrl+super+arrow) will freeze my whole system. Restart required; no way around it that I have seen.
The game works but isn't very fun...
