PROTON_CPU_TOPOLOGY=8 %command%

Using Proton, not native version
The game won't launch initially, because it seems that its native version has issues. It's necessary to force the game to launch the Windows version through Proton (in my case, Proton Hotfix). After that it works well, with the caveat that the performance gets progressively worse the longer you advance. I don't know if this also happens on Windows.

Stanley’s game was so stubbornly designed that it only worked through Proton, which is honestly impressive in the worst way possible.
Game momentarily pauses when about to play certain audio files.
Game opens, shows menu. Crashes when I click the option to begin.

PROTON_CPU_TOPOLOGY=8 %command%
Unless the "PROTON_CPU_TOPOLOGY=8 %command%" startup command is specified, the game crashes after loading the first level. Apparently, it's only needed if your PC has more than 8 CPU cores. I'm using the Windows version; the Linux native version doesn't even show the main menu. With the command and forced running via Proton, the game works perfectly.

The native version crashes unless you remove (or rename) the "libstdc++.so.6" file in "The Stanley Parable/bin".

5w TDP
Had to get close to read in the museum
Using bazzite:39.
Can turn the TDP down to 5W and still get 60fps on the LCD Deck.
(optional) Change d-pad up to keyboard spacebar key. Spam it for achievement.

Native version crashes and does not start
In case it's relevant, I'm using KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland.

Switched to running through proton instead of native
Minor screen tearing

I could run the game however I just saw a black screen with office sounds in the background.
It did not properly run.
plays great with no issues

Supprimer le fichier libstdc++.so.6 dans le dossier du jeu/bin
Marche parfaitement. Les deux versions se valent.

Achievements gets unlocked, but as of now I don't have all of them so I can't assure that they all unlock properly.
Played on the 512GB model.
removed libstdc++.so.6 in the bin folder
Works!
doesn't launch at all
Works.
Doesn't work under XWayland, works flawlessly under X.
Works.
Shows black box under Wayland, works flawlessly under X.
rm bin/libstdc++.so.6; %command%
For the native version, libstdc++.so.6 needs to be removed for the game to run. The proton version works fine as well and is simpler to enable, but appears to consume approximately half a watt more power. Neither is particularly strenuous to run, so it's up to the user's comfort level which route they take. A bit like this game.
deleted file The Stanley Parable/bin/libstdc++.so.6
just delete The Stanley Parable/bin/libstdc++.so.6
Native version does not work
For some reason, it won't run natively until you Right-click the game in Steam, choose “Manage > Browse local files”, and delete the file bin/libstdc++.so.6.
I did that, and the native version started working fine.
The native version didn't launch, so I used Proton and it worked perfectly.
Turns out the fix for the native version is fairly simple though. Right-click the game in Steam, choose "Manage > Browse local files", and delete the file bin/libstdc++.so.6

I went with 5.13 because native had some weird graphical issues. Ran perfectly!
Happened only one time, however the game went totally black and did not respond to any input until relaunched, resulting in loss of progress.
Needed to find the fix in the arch wiki before the game became playable.
The game works well as long as you play with proton 15.13
When launched with newer versions of proton the game starts but even though you can hear the main menu, the screen is fully black, however, once I changed the proton version to 15.13-6 and then everything worked as expected.

Unable to load manifest file 'scripts/game_sounds_manifest.txt'
Launcher: Heroic launcher
Worked pretty well, unlike the native version which didn't launch
Perfect experience with Proton 5.13-5

PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%
Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST
Average FPS:200 Game also launches in 4:3 by default
Works perfectly out of the box.
Ironically the native linux version don't work.
The native version doesn't run but the game works flawlessly on Proton 5.0.
Native version would get stuck on the menu screen. With Proton it runs OOTB.
I posted a steamcommunity-video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kzpHaVbYJo&feature=youtu.be

Game works native on Linux. On Proton it used to work out of the box, but now there are only graphical glitches with WineD3D. I installed manually D9VK and it worked as well fine with this DX9 to Vulkan translation => therefore Gold.
