Not a huge problem as the default of 1080p is still plenty workable but did require launch options to get the game to set to the correct resolution.
Copied these instructions from a reddit post and got the gamepad to be recognized in gamemode: 1 - open the deck in desktop mode (via the Power off menu) 2 - set the task bar to auto hide (via the right click "edit mode" menu on the desktop taskbar) 3 - open the game whilst in the deck's desktop mode, then in the game itself change the display settings to fullscreen and then quit and restart

It's probably fine on "normal" PCs, I wouldn't recommend it on SteamDeck until controller support is fixed.
Controller support was not working

I didn't personally struggle with it, but the default text size is just small enough that it gets fuzzy. Text size can be increased in game.
The official layout it starts with does nothing. On deck the touch screen works great, especially since the game has a dedicated touch screen mode in settings.
Touch screen worked great as a temporary solution to control woes

Controls have to be changed to mouse on trackpad, plus left click (on right trackpad) or no inputs are read from the entire deck handheld.
Left Click on Right Trackpad Click
30fps is all that's really warranted, defaults to 1280x720, but allows you to set 1280x800 in options.
Without a complete overhaul of your control set the game appears unusable if defaults are used on steam deck.
