As an added bonus, my DS5 controller is detected properly via BT! Working glyphs!

Constant stutters from 165~ frames into low FPS lag spikes

Sadly the game stutters like every 5 seconds. Those hiccups freeze the screen for a few milliseconds and are very annoying.
FPS drops every few seconds

No issues noticed so far, including borderless/fullscreen modes, playing on Epic settings.
I don't even have anything to write here. All StartWine settings are by default. PortProton also handles this game without any problems

Whatever you use, the max or mid details you won't lose much. The most important is smooth play and it works.
Proton GE 9.5 + use steam runtime
Bad optimization, game stutters from time to time so I have to lower the graphic details to "mid".

I was getting a C++ Redistributable error
The game doesn't support Sony controllers, and I could not get it to work through Steam
This is for the Epic Games Store version. I needed to add some C++ Redistributable to get it to work. It works if I start it up from Lutris or the Epic Games Store (installed through Lutris). I could not get the game to start from Steam like I have with other Epic Store Games, getting the following error message "Unable to detect if the game was launched through the Epic Games Launcher".

Install vcrun2022 Visual C++ 2015-2022 libraries for Epic Game Store release

Has massive tearing and shimmering on Wayland even with VSync and some stutters, however it works perfectly on X11. Wayland issue is likely related to some recent mesa update, as it ran fine for me in the past.

some texture poping/LOD issues. loads low quality textures first then swaps to HD too late. does not affect gameplay.
the game MUST run in Borderless, and start in Borderless or it will hitch badly. you MUST set it to borderless and then restart your game or you'll get serious performance degredation.
Must be on Nvidia Proprietary Driver 550 with forced DX11 and G-Sync turned off in dirver settings or the game will crash the Xserver instance.
For some reason, the frame rate drops BADLY with lower graphical settings in ways that don't makes sense. setting everything to EPIC gives a consistant 144FPS with buttery smooth frame times. lowering any settings results in lag and hitching. I have no idea why.

Won't work on my PC
Massive FPS drops
For some reason. the frames drop substantially making it unplayable.

Borderless will make the Game stutter massively
very slight stuttering at the first few seconds of the Race but afterwards no stuttering at all at max settings at 4k, without vsync and XeSS. Only issue is the game will only work in Fullscreen or Windowed mode, Borderless will make the game stutter during races and it will crash if you want to switch away from Borderless.

The menu FPS cap going nuts is a huge annoyance and makes going from one event to another an absolute slog.
This doesn't technically count as an input issue (my controller worked fine) but any controls that had custom binds were wiped clean and unbound after running the game from my Steam Cloud save, even though I was using the same controller I always use.
Framerate caps itself and becomes nearly unusable when returning to the menu from an event, will go back to normal when graphics settings are changed.

Works out of the box even in DX12 mode with decent performance
XeSS upscaling even at lowest settings tanks performance instead of increasing
I did not encounter any instability issues with the problematic "Origin Black Hole" tracks. So forcing DX11 mode with a launch option no longer seems to be necessary.
On my current setup with a modest RX 5700 GPU, for 90fps 1440p gameplay I maxed all the graphic settings, disabled vsync and set framerate cap to 90 fps.

Crashed my browser and made all my windows flicker when I first tried to enter the options menu. Fixed after a pc restart and didn't happen again yet.
The game can stutter a tiny bit every now and then, especially during cutscenes, but it's by no means a big problem. Otherwise it's been a pretty solid experience so far.

Game takes several minutes to get to the main menu on startup, I have no idea what could be causing this as reinstalling the game did not fix the issue.
Origin black hole tracks will crash before loading unless I use the -dx11 launch option.
Plays almost like you'd expect it to on windows aside from the issues noted above, XeSS even works for me on an AMD GPU.
Initially wouldn't launch without the dx11 launch argument, but after adding '-dx11' it ran flawlessly at well over 100fps.

Crashes when loading some tracks. Switching to DirectX 11 mode can work around the issue for now.

Almost playable. Some minor performance issues, but the biggest problem is some tracks causing the game to crash.
Will crash loading certain tracks, specifically the outer space themed "Origin Black Hole" set.
Steam Deck performance unstable, fluctuates wildly between 30-60fps even at low settings. Can lock to 30 at medium-high settings.
I'd recommend using Proton-GE and setting DXVK_ASYNC=1 to eliminate shader compilation stutter, but this is absolutely not necessary to play by any means.
My previous ("borked") report was using Experimental or GE, which did not work. Using Proton 7 it worked out of the box.
I got 60 fps (vsync limit) on 4K, rendered at 50%, using high settings and dialing down texture settings one notch because of my limited video memory.
Popup message: "DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument."
I tried both Experimental and GE
Works flawlessly out of the box. 100-120 FPS at 4K. No crashes, no glitches. No tinkering needed.
Not sure what user "Ebunix" is on about...maybe needs to get a better distro and configuration 😂 but don't listen to them. It works flawlessly.
Medium settings holds 60fps and can dip when boosting. Low settings holds 60 fps better but will still experience dips from time to time.
Game just works great I wish it was optimized better. I'm surprised it was able to run as well as it did.

can only detect one controller
only one input method detected
The game is playabe, but has some annoyances. If you're looking to play every single part of the game you might be out of luck though.
Screen resolution was detected in portrait mode for some reason. Windowed mode would display with a resolution of 1080x1920 instead of the usual 1920x1080. This could not be reliably replicated though.
Sometimes though when loading a track the game slows to a crawl because the GPU is constantly hitting its limit. This will continue until the game is closed and restarted. Overall GPU usage seems to be above average as well, but this seems to be a common problem among players.
Loading certain tracks consistently manages to crash the game about two thirds through the loading process.
Private group sessions were tested. Public multiplayer was not tested.
this is apears to be an issue with having multiple controllers connected. This isnt an issue with the game, just something to be aware of
it works without proton GE as expected. still has the same issue of not registering input if you have multiple controllers connected....but thats neither here nor there.
