Works out of the Box
No issues there, the Game has its own Resolutions inside the options menu incase the window appears to be too small
Works without a hitch
Works perfectly out of the box without any tinkering here (I set the default proton to experimental), only issue i noticed was that the keybinding did not allow me to bind anything to the 7 key, the game would usually set the mount to that key, so I had to rebind it to 8 instead.
-dx11
Borderless will make the Game stutter massively
very slight stuttering at the first few seconds of the Race but afterwards no stuttering at all at max settings at 4k, without vsync and XeSS. Only issue is the game will only work in Fullscreen or Windowed mode, Borderless will make the game stutter during races and it will crash if you want to switch away from Borderless.
Does not seem to work with Nvidia GPU's
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
I tried a few launch options as well as various proton versions from proton 6 to 8 as well as experimental and GE8-25, I could imagine that it might work with the newer 545 nvidia driver or some custom nvidia patches some Distros like Nobara ship with, but right now It's not something I can confirm.
Moving from an Ubuntu Base to an Arch base made it just work.
Windowmode does not constrain the mouse to the Window, so playing it Fullscreen or Borderless is recommended
during the game going to the menu and resuming would make it stutter, lowering the graphic settings to medium solved it
Before I had trouble getting the game to even open at all, no fix I tried seemed to work. Since then I have moved to CachyOS, installed their Gamingpackages that included their own Proton version, their Kernel with the Nvidia drivers baked in, and I could just run it without forcing any proton version or launch options. Funnily enough, using any launch options like PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1or Gamemoderun would revert to my old problem of the game simply not opening.
