It's a perfect handheld game and with the settings I use, you can get around 7 hours on one charge.
Capped to 30fps as it's barely noticeable.
Vampire Survivors is genuinely one of my most played games on deck. It's so easy to just launch it, quick start, run around the map. I've never had any frame drops, stability issues, etc. and it looks great even on the slightly reduced frame rate. It's also incredibly cheap so even if you're unsure whether to give it a go or not, it costs less than a coffee and Steam has a generous refund policy either way.

The kind of game the Steam Deck was made for. It runs perfectly, and daintily sips on your battery as it goes.
Tbh they did a little too good of a job optimizing this game when they switched to a new engine. You used to be able to break the game with golden eggs and lag it out with your attacks to the point it would chug down to 1fps! That's the kind of stuff roguelike players live for! The new engine on the other hand is unstoppable... Nothing slows it down...😢

It didn't work for me until I launched on desktop and signed into Epic.
Epic Games version

via epic games using hero launcher, load first in desktop as it needs to login to pic via broswer. Then it can be launched in game with no issues

Everything works out of the box

Unless you specifically build for very low cooldowns and big area-of-effect, it's really smooth at 60 FPS.
8 Watts TDP & 800 MHz GPU Manual Clock; Could hover around 4 hours, depending on intensity.
I always force a compatibility layer because Steam would not be able to detect my saved game otherwise.
My save coming from a Windows machine might have something to do with the odd save file bug.

A bit slow with too many enemies on screen, but not consistently and still super fun.

45fps limit, 8 watts tdp

Reduce TDP to 7W
FPS drops to ~40 when there are too many things on screen

The game runs perfectly out of the box. Played it to 100% without a single issue. Not even a frame drop. This game deserves Platinum rating.

Game runs perfectly at 90fps on the OLED right out of the box.

Native Linux support, works perfectly on both Steam Deck and PC.

Runs perfectly OOTB, no customisations at all

I previously wrote that if you don't change the version of Proton, it will take longer to finish the game, but now it works without any issues without you having to change anything.

Set TDP to 10W and FPS to 45
At the boot-selection for the game the "start with gpu-fix" seams to improve performence when I have a crazy flashy run in the game. Players of the game know, waht I mean ;-)

i cannot think of a single game more dangerous for someone with photosensitive epilepsy
Reduced TDP limit to 6W and capped FPS at 45. Would have been good enough with defaults a well.
8 watts 60 fps ~10h of gaming (Oled version)

Fixed by pressing STEAM button and then resuming
Works perfectly on OLED at 90fps with no tinkering, 5+ hours of battery

The only quirk with this title is upon exiting, it takes a while to return to Steam OS menu unless you press B to exit. A little weird, but doesn't ruin the overall experience. Perfect choice for Steamdeck!

With the default version of Proton, I have to wait about a minute to get back to the library after choosing to quit the game.
Changing to 7.0-6 shortens the wait to about 5 seconds.

Works fantastic since they changed game engine. No more slowness. I play with GE-Proton but probably doesn't need it. Works great without any tinkering.

Put in around 15-16 hours so far and not a single problem. There are some minor frame rate drops (max ~15fps dropped) when there's a lot of stuff happening on screen, but it remains perfectly playable.
