Occasionally started in an invisible window showing no activity, eventually worked after some amount of window switching and/or restarting. The issue happened less frequently after a few days, so maybe I was just too impatient.
One or two late-game scenes caused heavy frame rate drops, could be resolved by a restart.

My CPU is a i9-13900k, so the first 16 threads are in the 8 performance cores. You should ajust the WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY parameter according to your particular CPU.
Before setting the parameter, I was getting major fps drops (20-30 FPS) but now I'm at 144+ FPS.

Works well, nice artwork, enjoyable. I used Proton GE 8.6 and it worked without any tweaking.
I have played on 4k with about 35 fps an that is fine for this Grafik Adventure.

For reference, I do have the 4GB VRAM and Cryo utilities active on my Deck. This game is really good looking and mostly plays really well. I set the refresh rate and FPS to 40, the in-game settings to High Textures, Medium Shadows, AO on, and Dynamic On. The game stays at 40 fps most of the time. There are a few areas where the FPS tanks a lot(I believe areas with high transparency like water areas can go as low as 15 fps) and others where it drops to around 30 fps so locking it at 30 fps is more consistent but I personally prefer it at 40 fps. It's not a big deal in effectively a modified point and click style adventure game though and the game is very pretty. Does do a number on battery life though.

30 FPS cap on Deck. Trying to run at 60 FPS will pull near max battery drain even at Low preset. At 30 and High prest with AA and dynamic elements on, you'll get between 2.5 to 3 hours, and the visual upgrade is worth it for this game.
A couple of HUD elements are tiny. Objective and hint pop-ups are borderline. Only minor stuff.
Sometimes it's needed to relaunch the game to make it run smoothly.
Sometimes the game runs horrible, with heavy stuttering and audio crackles. Lowering the graphics settings makes no difference. If I simply quit the game and relaunch it, the game runs great and smooth. Reproducable, no idea as to why though.
I'm unable to find out why the game runs smoothly one time and horrible the other time. The solution is easy enough; just quit the game and relaunch it. It's not even needed to load your savegame, the menu already feels horrible to interact with.

Dialing the graphic setings all the way down did not help.

A surprising a graphical showcase for the Steam Deck. Set this game to the Ultra graphical preset just with shadows bumped to high.
30FPS lock with Steam's performance menu. With that and graphics preset to Ultra (shadows on high), expect a two hour battery life.
There are in-game diary has text that are in a handwritten style, which unlike other in-game docs, doesn't have an overlayed caption to it. Other than most of the text you'll need to read has bold captions to them that can be toggled on.
there was a slight hitch with the very first chapter. But beyond that no other problems.
I'm glad this game runs beautifully at ultra settings with the steam deck. Of course, it'll drain the battery to a two hour estimate. But worth it for me.
