Plays very well for this remake. Plus, this game is GOAT

Everything worked out of the box
I was able to play the game entirely without any issues
I used the recommendation from ArlonFX. "To fix it I went into the directory of the game ".local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1265920/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/LiS/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor" and I've opened "GameUserSettings.ini" and modified "sg.ResolutionQuality" from 50 to 100 (that resolved the bad quality/3d rendering of the game), "sg.ViewDistanceQuality" from 0 to 4 and "IsHighResMode" from 0 to 1"
Thanks again! <3
SDL_VIDEODRIVER="wayland,x11,windows" %command%
Game does not start if SDL_VIDEODRIVER doesn't have "windows" option.

Works out of the box
Two or three voice lines in the entire game didn't play while the characters mouths were moving in higher speed, I think it's a game bug and not exactly Proton related
Game window freezes when selecting the Exit Game option, requiring the game to be stopped from Steam
Works out of the box as it would in the originally targetted OS

It seems a major downgrade on the original in terms of performance, stability and bugs, with very moderate improvements in level of detail.
Triangles getting drawn at oblique angles all over the screen at various places in the first 30m.
Non-transferable saves from non-remastered edition. Same as windows.
Typical stuttering from Unreal Engine each time it tries to load something in.
Go with the original.

The only problem I had was that the 3d rendering/quality of the game was horrible even if I had all settings to the max, and it was caused by one config file of the game. (this is not related to proton as some people on Windows had this issue too)
To fix it I went into the directory of the game ".local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1265920/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/LiS/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor" and I've opened "GameUserSettings.ini" and modified "sg.ResolutionQuality" from 50 to 100 (that resolved the bad quality/3d rendering of the game), "sg.ViewDistanceQuality" from 0 to 4 and "IsHighResMode" from 0 to 1

There wasn't much of it but some text that was farther away was difficult to read.
Minor issues with lighting, not Linux specific
I played locked 60 FPS on the "High" graphics settings almost the entire game. I had minor frame drops to 45-50 pretty consistently throughout so I'd recommend locking to 45 FPS. During one section inparticular in Chapter 4 I had struggles running it on 30 FPS and had to turn down the graphics to "Low" briefly.
If you're buying specifically to play on the Steam Deck, the 2015 version might be better. Overall though its a fantastic game that works decently well on the deck!

if you don't mind lower quality cutscenes than on pc, and the bars top and bottom, it is a great title for steam deck
the shadows were sometimes weird, but my issue was with the cutscenes. sometimes slower, and most of the times lower quality than on pc
runs with bars top and bottom

Runs well on the default medium settings but battery life is poor, the game supports native 1280x800 but there are black bars on the top and bottom (does not fill the screen), and occasionally you get the mouse and keyboard controls instead of controller.

It works straight out of the box with cutscenes and all.
I experienced none of the issues described in the other reports - no glitches, no performance issues and working cutscenes.

gamemoderun %command%
did the ultrawide tweak to allow the game to support 21:9
some of the pickup images had minor artifacting, mirrors also had weird stretching on the edges sometimes
The ultrawide fix for this game also applies to the windows version so all things considered it ran great

Capped @ 40Hz and 40FPS.
Some text far away could be incredibly hard to decipher.
FPS would drop to around 20FPS everytime something was moved, for example a sheet of metal or the truck. I have no idea what causes this.
This really picks up in the later episodes and it is quite good narratively.
Puoi abbassare i dettagli e la risoluzione per aumentare la durata della batteria
Was looking to replay, but Episode 3 would just completely crash everytime I tried to boot!
For the time being, the original version is the one to play. This version experiences crashes still with certain cutscenes. What a shame.
Mit Proton 7.04, Experimental oder GE 7.37 gibt es "Fatal Errors" an manchen Episoden-Enden. Mit 6.3-8 konnte ich ohne Probleme spielen.
Zwischendurch an Stelle einer Cut Scene ein Testbild
Unable to get past episode 2 ending
Some minor graphical glitches with relfections/lights
Always crashes during ending of Episode 2
Game still crashes during episode 2 ending. Have tried a bunch of things like limiting CPU cores and SSL fixes. I believe results vary depending on if you sucessfully saved a certain person (like I did because that changes the ending cut-scene).
I have no reason to believe this issue is Proton specific, as I have seen gamers on Windows reporting the same crashes. I think the variable here is what kind of actions you take during your gameplay.
The further an object is away the smaller its interaction icon/describtion text becomes. On some objects the icon and text are barely visible and unreadable.
The game crashes with a "Fatal error!" mesage at around 10 points across all episodes, always when loading a new area. Using Proton 6.3-8 prevents this, but then some pre-rendered cutscenes will display a test image instead (though I only encountered that in episode 5).
Unable to progress past ending of Episode 2
Game crashes at the end of Episode 2
Game gets stuck on a black screen/crashes at the ending of Episode 2. No difference with Proton GE or Experimental
Sometimes when unpausing the game during a cutscene the audio will just cut out entirely
GE-Proton crashed at the end of pretty much every chapter. Steam's proton however refused to play any of the cutscenes so I had to switch between them. The ending was plagued with both issues. GE-Proton crashed after the first cutscene and refused to go on, and Steam's Proton failed to play the ending at all
The cutscenes at the end of episode 1 don't load and color bars are showed instead. The game is unplayable in this conditions.
Work as good as on Windows.Black screen issue fixed.
I also had the black screen issue at the end of the episode 2. I switched to proton 7.0rc2-GE-1 and also get the lowest resolution (1024x768) and it worked.
In general a great experience, just that I'm stuck at the end of episode 2
The game enters a black screen at the end of episode 2, and I can't find a way to start episode 3

Due to the bug loading the .mp4 cut scene it is impossible to finish episode 1 and move on to the next episode in the game.
In the final scene of Episode 1 the game tries to switch to a .mp4 cut scene. Instead of loading the .mp4 it displays color bars for a few moments before dropping back to the main menu.

Did not start with Proton experimental. Had to use one of Glorious Eggroll's releases I had lying around.
initially some scenes had framerate drops and had one hard stutter that looped part of a voiceline, ran smoothly the rest of the time

Excellent work! The game works very well on my Linux
Average fps 80-120 on ultra graphics. I am satisfied with the good performance of the game since the release
Proton-7.1-GE-2
Everything works as you'd expect. I got a solid, consistent 60FPS running at max settings on 1440p.
