Playing version 0.930 of the game - frequent updates may mean this report is out of date at some stage.
Changed right trackpad to allow mouse control and left click as menus in game are not usuable with a gamepad.
Many commands cannot fit on the gamepad - back grip buttons and left touch pad were useful for assigning additional keyboard functionality.
Capping to 30fps using SteamOS stabilised performance and improved battery life.
Game ran at native 720p, but appeared to be using internal upscaling as character edges, etc sometimes broke up a little in motion.
Both standard Proton and Proton-6.21-GE-1 didn't run this game well. A very unoptimized game overall.
With the low frame rate, character kept walking even after keyboard buttons were no longer pressed. Button mapping wasn't good for Xbox controller, but was also terrible in Windows.
Terrible frame rate that ranged from 15-30 FPS. Was 60+ on Windows.
On first run it takes a few seconds to start and also in game it stutters for the first few seconds (only on first run).

Framerate locked to 30FPS in game, 60FPS in menu.
Game will not start if you change any settings. It crashes when loading the Settings.json file.
Just a couple of frames per second on Linux (Nvidia 1060 6GB) while very smooth on Windows.

~10-15 fps with DXVK, using WINED3D yielded a few more fps but introduced graphical glitches.
