Videos launches in a separate screen. Can't skip using esc, just click the x to close video for skipping.
Launches with blank screen by default. Had to change options in the game foder to turn off full screen.
Go to your installation drive and folder: steam/steamapp/common/Agarest Generations of War/Agarest.ini FullScreen=0
Videos run but in a separate window. Couldn't skip videos with any button presses. Clicking close (x) on the video window skips it though, and the next video in sequence starts. The main menu loads and works after the startup videos. Note that the main menu is split between a video window for the background and the menu options. That was hilarious.
The video window closes once new game is started / save loaded. In game scenes that are non video all play in the default game screen.
At release, the game runs as is without any changes to config. Had stability issues with Vulkan though so switched to DX11.
Only on Vulkan. DX11 had no issues
When the game was released, had issues running it reliably with Vulkan. Switching to DX11 fixed that. After a proton hotfix, I could run Vulkan without any problems. No reason for the switch back to Vulkan other than testing. Performance was equally good in Vulkan and DX11.
Patch 1 released made Vulkan issues pop up again so I switched back to DX11 and it runs fine again.
Used Proton Experimental. In Environment Settings, Change "Load Memory Cache" option to 0GB
In Environment Settings, Change "Load Memory Cache" option to 0GB. Game would load to a black screen with cursor on Proton Experimental if Load Memory Cache option is set at default. Best option selected for all graphics option. Resolution at 1920x1080. Game runs well with no issues whatsoever.
**Proton 8.0-5 actually loads the game, but videos play at 1fps or so. Memory cache option doesn't help.
