On my system, both ESYNC and FSYNC needed to be disabled for cutscenes to work properly. Otherwise there was some dialogue problems.
I used launch option : PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%
To fix black bars and wrong window-size: WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/812140/pfx/" winecfg
Graphics->Emulate the virtual Desktop: configure with full screen and correct resolution.
Flawless, played few puzzles. Progress was synced from previous windows installation.

Leon A & Claire B Completed - only bug which I encountered was near the start of Claire's run. Game would lose all interface elements when activating laptop in police HQ - main hall. Fortunately activating the laptop is not necessary, and only gives some flair. Besides that, everything was as native.

Everything works like a charm. Just click and play. No ultrawide monitor support however, but that's not caused by proton.
Played a complete game with medium galaxy and 6 AI. Turns were fast, no issues.
Origin client sometimes fails to update, but relaunching the game fixes this for me. Past Origin, everything works like native.
Works almost perfectly. Installed to a library without a comma ( . ) in path. Played with controller - no issues. There are rarely some VERY mild sound distortions, and music and sound is absent in Space Harrier (haven't tested any other arcade games).
