Runs perfectly as if it was native.
No issues running this game at all, no tweaks were required the game just ran properly.
The need to change CFG files (each boot in my case) is tedious but once playing it runs wonderfully!
Did all the changes mentioned on this page. However, I have an additional step to make mine work. I have to make "StartupCompleted" in FFXIV_BOOT.cfg to 0 to be able to login and play the game. I need to change this setting BEFORE playing each time.
Using Proton-5.9-GE-3-ST, Browser 1 instead of 2 inside of FFXIV_BOOT.cfg and changing CutsceneMovieOpening to 1 inside of FFXIV.cfg. Additional change to make the "StartupCompleted" to 0 to avoid the error: "A system error has occurred: -2147467263 javacscipt:ctrEvent('mainform')". Not sure why I seem to be getting the error.
Random screen black out for about a second or two before the game carried on as normal.
Very occasional stuttering.
Some odd stuttering occasionally, moreso than on Windows.
Had to use the Protontricks edit to login to my Xbox account or the game would crash. The reddit thread mentioned on this page was also helpful in getting past that issue.
Runs well and seems stable. No crashes or weird glitches aside from the usual Bethesda-ness.
Needs the following in the launch options to have dialog audio: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
When closing the game the system freezes for about 1-2 seconds before the game closes.
