This was just an initial problem (3/4 black), when exiting fullscreen and entering again, it worked
The game runs horrible (30-40 fps) from wave 1. Neither the CPU nor the GPU have a load above 30% while playing. I noticed it runs way better when CLOSING both FIREFOX and DISCORD, but I mostly play with my sister over discord so this is rarely an option.
Game is very fun, but for me not playable when I want to talk to friends and family :(
This is an update to my original report. I don't know if the 3/4 blackscreen-problem persists, because this issue never reappeared after exiting and reentering fullscreen via settings. However, the initial performance issues are gone now. I don't know why, as I have not played for a few weeks, but among other things I upgraded Nobara from 40 to 41. Now it runs like a charm with 60 FPS, no problems what so ever.
At first wouldn't launch, but after updating GE-Proton and drivers I was able to play without any problems
I disabled the absurdly loud Intro (all the branding stuff from id and so on) with the launch parameter "+com_skipIntroVideo 1"
Game crashes on startup if steam recording is enabled
If you absolutely want steam recording enabled, it is possible to disable them before starting, and then enabling them again while the game is running. Repeating the following steps re-enables them for me, and so they may for you:
- Disable Game Recording for REPO in the games properties in steam (Properties > Game Recording > Background Recording : Disabled)
- Start REPO
- Open the Steam overlay and go to settings
- Navigate to the tab Game Recording
- Scroll down to Game-specific settings and delete REPO or set the recording length from Do not record to something else you wish.
- Scroll back to the top. If Record in Background is already selected, select Recording Off and then back to Record in Background (or Record manually if you prefer)
Remember to turn off steam recording again when you launch the game next time.
