I was unable to reach 60 FPS so I limited it to 30. It became steady after enabling half rate shading and set the in-game shadow resolution to medium. After that I only experienced minor dips in framerate in busier areas such as viewing the hub world at certain vantage points.
TDP limit to 9 watts, manual GPU clock to 600MHz
Half rate shading is half rate shading.
Returning to the game after leaving the Steam Deck in sleep mode for a while (30+ min) crashed the game a couple of times.
The ergonomics of a controller presented a subtle challenge. I had to unbind the A/B face buttons in order to force myself to learn "properly".
since there's no cloud saving, to import/continue a save from the PC version, you need to fetch it (the Curse Crackers Belle folder) from its windows appdata folder and put it in the steam deck's emulated storage equivalent

Before I made my own layout (Touchpad for Gensokyo Odyssey), the air hockey paddle would "slip" out because of the right trackpad click.
Had to set Properties>General>Game Resolution to 1280x720 otherwise the main menu would not load properly.
changed dpad to arrow keys and made sprinting better
occasionally crashed when loading a save (including restarting a level). this issue persisted until I downgraded to Proton 5.13-6
Got all achievements without any trouble. However clicking the option menu required going a little to the right of the button.
