Older Proton verision needed. 4.11-13 runs stable for me. 5.x will crash in Regent Valley, 6.x or GE won't let you log in.

A non existing XBox360 controller that existed in software was blocking me from using keyboard/mouse in game.
Controller detection blocked keyboard/mouse.
There is a fix for the controller problem. You might find that by searching for it, the problem is that editing game-files like SkyrimPrefs.ini where Steam shows you the files will not help. From the game folder, go two folders up ( /steamapps/ ) and go into ./compatdata/489830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition/ Here you can edit the Skyrim.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini Specifically for the controller issue in SkyrimPrefs.ini change bGamepadEnable=1 to bGamepadEnable=0.
