As described by ondrejlol the launcher causes a black screen with sound launch. Simply bind two buttons to Alt and Enter. I used the back L4 and R4 buttons. Pressing these at launch will get you back in game and everything ewill run smothly.
If you beat the game splash screen that should be it. If not you will just need to go to settings and change the resolution and cancel it to get it to fit the screen again. Once you get used to it, it is no bother at all.
Again if you don't beat the splash screen you just need to adjust resolution back to defaul (1280x800) and it looks great. Don't worry about the splash screen black bars on top and bottom, thats just to fit the prerendered video. 1280x800 is correct and you will see it once you are in game.
The game crashes on occassion, but for me it wasn't enough to warrent frustration. And the game auto saves a lot, so unless I was in a race, I didn't loose anything.
Played a couple Forza Arcade multplayer challenges, worked flawlessly.
Been playing since Christmas 2022, it's actually unreal how well it runs. One of my favorite games, and it's really cool I can play it in bed.
The game is an import from the original mobile game. So, fully reliant on mouse to play. This isn't the best expeirience on the Steamdeck.
Dark Mode in the menu. Didn't check if it really helped with battery. But the black on white, was definetly easier on the eyes than the white on black.
If you can tough out the mouse controls on the Steamdeck, the game is slow paced. So, it actually helped me get better with the controls.
