Heck yea! Runs even better than on Windows. A very noticeable increase in performance in mods.
That's a known thing about this game, the solution depends from user to user, but you CAN emulate a virtual desktop to make it run in a window.
Mouse is a bit laggy but it's manageable, again it depends from user to user.
' PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% ' - this is mandatory for people who can't run the game out of the box
A bit of frame skipping but this build is pretty old
That he'll do. It's an incredible feeling, to be able to play it in a Linux distro as well, not just only in Windows.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
the LOS may glitch the map, turn it black
You may need to run it in 1920x1080 (or your native resolution)
Seems like the 'unreadable text' issue was solved within one of the previous updates. Another Enigma-engine game that runs out of the box.
Same as the original CMC. Whatever issues there were, they are fixed now. Another Enigma-engine game running right out of the box.
Oh yeah! It's finally bug/artifact free. No more renaming launchers, no more prefix tweaking.
The game takes forever to load, but given the ton of files that it needs to read, it's acceptable
You may want to change your screenshot key if you're going to use the console(F12). As that is the only thing that makes the game look like a Picasso painting. Solution? Just Alt-Tab once or twice, it will fix itself.
There's no need for something to be added in the command line as the game now runs out of the box with the latest version of Proton.
Only one itty bitty tiny matter. This is NOT endorsed by the WZ2100 dev team. There are still quite a few things that needed to be fixed before being released on Steam. The only proper way to play it is using their build, from https://wz2100.net/ .
Just be careful when playing, save often (15~20 mins)
There's an occasional hiccup or freeze that crashes the game, but it's because of the game's old age and engine.
