Starts, but fails after ~30 seconds no matter what

The game would not start past the initial cutscene because of an nvidia XiD 109 error, seemed to be overloading my graphics card. What seemed to work was capping the game at 30 FPS with mangohud which allowed it to run long enough to get to the settings menu and turn the graphics settings down. Once those were changed, I could increase the cap and the game would run fine.
