everything can work

The only real problem is the Vulkan shader compilation. It usually takes ~10 minutes of gameplay for the game to be smooth. (after a patch)
MANGOHUD_CONFIG="fps_limit=301" mangohud gamemoderun %command%
My launch options only limit the game's FPS to 301FPS (1 above the game engine's limit) because the game's launch screen goes to 6000 FPS and causes coil whine. doesn't actually do anything in the game.
Works with Proton Experimental and Proton EasyAntiCheat runtime installed (did not test without the runtime installed). The only problem is that the intro video doesn't play on experimental. It plays the video on GE but the anti-cheat doesn't work on the latest GE, but that is a nitpick anyway.
The game hase framedrops (that even slow down in-game time) on Windows on this hardware. On Linux it runs flawlessly.

Recent update broke the game (Failed to load the anti-cheat module)
Tried ProtonGE 7.55, Proton 8, Proton 7 and experimental. None of them work.
I tried various Proton versions, verifying game files and some suggesstions from other users here, nothing worked.
To fix "Failed to load anti-cheat module" (Gentoo specific):
reemerge "sys-libs/glibc" with the "hash-sysv-compat" USE flag
To fix white/black screen of death on launch (hopefully will be fixed soon):
Delete the "1245620" in compatdata in your steam library, switch to ProtonGE

Achievements currently don't work. The game threw an error at me upon launching for the first time. It has worked fine with subsequent launches.
The actual game runs like native. Only slight problem is the 1st time launch.
Upon 1st pressing play it opens the settings window just like on windows. After selecting your settings and pressing play the game crashes. Launching the game again doesn't open the settings window and launches the game instead with the selected settings.
I couldn't get the Steam version of Nehrim working. However you can play Nehrim by installing it from the dev's website.
steamtinkerlaunch %command%
Manually installing and launching through Oblivion + Steam Tinker Launch works... the standalone game on Steam doesn't.
- download the Nehrim Installer from https://sureai.net/games/nehrim/.
- make sure you have Oblivion working on Steam
- launch Oblivion with these launch options: steamtinkerlaunch %command%
- Upon launching you will see a box that will quickly disappear, you need to press "MAIN MENU", then "GAME MENU". Under misc options tick "Use custom command" and "Only custom command". Select the installer you downloaded in "Custom command", click "SAVE AND PLAY" and install Nehrim. Uncheck all the boxes at the end of the install so it doesn't try to start Nehrim immediately and finish the install. If your Steam still says it is running Oblivion just quit the game from Steam.
- Now that you installed Nehrim, launch Oblivion again and press "MAIN MENU","GAME MENU" just like you did previously. Now you need to change the "Custom command" to your Nehrim launcher. Assuming everything went well you should find it in
- After getting into the launcher make sure that all the "Nehrim*.esp" and vanilla oblivion data files are checked. Graphical settings including resolution are best customized inside of the game (I couldn't find my monitor's resolution in the launcher, but could in the actual game for example). Now you can play Nehrim through launching Oblivion on Steam and it should load up the Nehrim launcher after the initial Steam tinker launch box disappears on it's own.
