No matter how I adjust the settings it won't hit 30 let alone stable. Ultra is completely unplayable but Low to High is barely any different, significant worse graphically with like 4 FPS difference. Small studio and all that but it's incredibly disappointing to see a lack of optimization despite their claims of fixing performance, even people on higher end windows PCs are still having issues.
At this point I don't think they're ever really going to put in the time to get under the hood and make it run as smoothly as it by all rights and visuals should. It'd be a perfect Deck game otherwise.
SteamDeck=0 %command%
Enabled Half Rate Shading, lowered TDP Limit to 12 Watts.
The game uses a thin font that makes some in-world prompts a little harder to read.
Significant performance problems on any settings above full low including hitting 0-1 FPS entering the first hub area which slowed the whole system down and required a hard close of the game.
I'm not sure what happened here, unless my memory sucks that badly the game used to run pretty flawlessly out of the box a year or so ago including in co-op and the game hasn't received a patch of any kind in two years but now it's got some struggles.
Not impossible to read but some things like the money in the merchant menu and such are hard to read.
Game wouldn't launch until I switched to Proton Experimental the worked fine. The only foibles you'll run into is you have to go to the settings and tick a box to switch to Controller there and you HAVE to be on one of the default layouts or the game won't register you as using a controller.
So, make sure you're on Gamepad with Joystick/Trackpad -> main menu -> settings -> controls -> tick the box on the bottom left.
Cannot reliably hit 30, let alone maintain it.
I've tried a variety of settings and fixes including ones listed on this page and the performance is shockingly bad despite being verified and having a Deck specific graphics preset. I don't know what's changed in the three months since the last post on this page but I'd only call it playable by a razor thin margin, it entirely comes down to your ability to deal with sub-30 frame rates and the classic FSR pixel vaseline blur.
