Can open the game but still can't get to the main menu.
The game was not opening at all. After reading about people deleting their videos, I realized that my system was lacking video codecs and couldn't even view any of the .mp4's that shipped with the game, so I installed all missing codecs in terminal using--
:: sudo add-apt-repository multiverse
:: sudo apt update
:: sudo install ubuntu-restricted-extras
:: sudo apt update
after which, the mp4 files could play perfectly. The game then could launch and I could see some sort of loading screen momentarily, but it still crashes before the main menu =(
Only minor progress. Hopefully this gets fixed in Proton...
Game is Linux native, but seems to run fine in forced Proton (Experimental ver).
A typical user can play natively without using proton, but I need proton so that I can install windows-based mods.
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_D3D10=1 %command%
There's so much garbage in the graphics, it is unplayable.
I want to use UplinkOS but I can't on the Linux-native version of the game. Trying to use Proton, however only shows garbage when there's any graphics on screen. I've been trying to figure this out by using protontricks to install various libraries and doing little tweaks here and there, to no avail.
I really hope the UplinkOS guys can make a Linux version... cuz this ain't workin.
