At first: You will need a Feral gamemode (just for this game to make a game process high-priority and get stable 60 FPS)
So, what you need after installing gamemode to make this game run well:
- Install protontricks
- Launch commands in terminal: protontricks 960990 shell winetricks
- Install: .NET 3.5 After that install .NET 4.5.2
- Set configuration to Windows 10. (in "run winecfg") Or windows 8/8.1.
- If you are using alsa as your audio driver (like I do), set config through winetricks to "sound=alsa"
- If you have sound issues Install this dll's: xact_64
- Install (not required, but I got stutters off by doing this) dxvk (default version)
- Set the runtime Steam settings as mine: gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
- Enjoy no-stutter game.
Dialog audio just was broken. Set your protontricks for game to YOUR audio system, paste WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" (may work from the box). If it doesn't work - go to my description instruction and install all from it, leave wine dll overrides as I said earlier.
Wrote down in the description on how to fix sound and stutters
Crash when fighting bosses at Laboratory. Don't know how to fix that, but I guess this happened just cuz of my overall pc instability(1 stick of RAM, overclock etc)

NEVER use new GE Proton versions for GTA 5. Use Steam Proton Experimental. GE - is just a big lag.

Just a few statters when entering story mode. 3-5 statters and gone. Overall great perfomance
Easy ultra settings multuplayer on 1080ti. All ok, completed a few robberies and IAA missions and all good
Use gamemoderun, wine fsr and dxvk async - and all would be great.
Run the game with those settings on proton GE and you'll be fine. Ultra graphics full hd all good

All good. idk how big my fps is, but it's pretty nice.
Played using Proton Experimental as well - it all been good and smooth. Recommended: GE latest
In the end, I enjoyed this game. Completed all the main carreer and all DLC's (The Depths, The Hideaway, The Residence)

xaudio_64 plugin installed Changed config: sound=alsa dxvk installed Changed OS in winecfg: Windows 10
After an escape, death and respawn, watching in the "EYE" - slightly low FPS like down from 80-90 to 8 and input lag. Fix: press escape button.
Good game, but needed additional effort to take away all bugs. All in all, recommend. If you are using setup like mine, u'll enjoy this anyways.
