So after some tinkering, I was able to resolve problem with crashing intro movie.

On vanilla Valve Proton movies were borked (like while traveling via train), but switching to the newest Glorious Eggroll fork of Proton removed these issues

- Install game using GloriousEggroll proton (I used 6.19-GE-2)
- Run
protontricks 748490 lavfilters wmp9 quartz devenum- this should repair game videos, black UI elements (like when equiping orbs) etc.
Minor background glitching while in Ashen Knight interior
If you want to start new game using save from first game, you have to:
cp -r ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/538680/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved\ Games/FALCOM/ed8 ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/748490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved\ Games/FALCOM/ed8
(ofcourse you have to have first game installed to do so)
Configuration tool may generate errors when trying to open up select lists.
Then just click Continue and try to navigate this window using:
Tabfor navigating through options↑and↓arrows for switching options in said select listsSpace barfor (un)checking checkbox options and for 'pressing' buttons when you select them withTab
