Doesn't work on Proton 8.0-5. Must use Proton 9 or higher.
Paradox Launcher 2023.13.4 crashes, attempting to close Stellaris on Ubuntu 23.04 and 23.10. The crash reporter pop-up can also causing resizing offset issues to Stellaris and even freezes game load if accidently focused. So I deleted 2023.13.4 and 2023.14 and made the directory read only and I now can play Stellaris v3.9.3 (dcaf) without issue.
cd ~/.paradoxlauncher/
rm -rf launcher-v2.2023.13.4/ launcher-v2.2023.14/
chmod u-w .
Steam will throw warning that the "game" which is the Paradox Launcher can't be updated. Stellaris will still update without issue, because default install path is in the ~/.steam directory.
Paradox launcher v2023.13.1 still throws pop-up crash reporter that shouldn't be interacted with, but Stellaris loads reliably.
Some offsetting issues in fullscreen, resolved by blocking paradox launcher upgrade by changing ~/.paradoxlauncher/ to read-only access.
