Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
If you have multiple monitors and are sensitive to input lag, then this game is currently un-playable.

Borderless window mode would only display 1/3 of the game window on the left side of the screen using 1 monitor. Straight fullscreen mode works fine.
A lot of input lag with multiple monitors. Less with one.
Having multiple monitors connected severely degrades FPS. Disconnecting all but one brings it up to a more playable frame rate.
When starting a new game, it would sit at a black screen with the loading indicator for about 1 minute before starting the opening cinematic.
If you're running a single monitor and don't mind a little bit of input lag, then this game seems to work fine otherwise. You'll need to either run Proton GloriousEgroll or add the command line arguments in other posts to get audio working on Valve Proton.
The native linux port has not been smooth for me. Using the Windows version via Proton provides the smoothest experience.

The Native Linux version suffers from low FPS and stuttering in many places. Using the Software cursor shows both system and software cursor at the same time. Must use the hardware cursor.
Graphical issue with grass can make it very visually distracting. Otherwise it plays normally.

Grass looks like it has heavy motion blur enabled when moving and has this weird effect when stationary.
Using PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 doesn't appear to let DLSS work.
Recent patch 1.11 and 1.11.1 visually breaks the grass.

If the audio is crackling/stuttering changing the Output Mode to another mode then back, fixes it on my configuration. I am using Stereo output mode on my setup. Audio Mix is set to Headphones since that's what I use, but never have to change this.
This game works well with Proton Glorious Eggroll. Only problem I have encountered is with the stuttering audio. This can usually be worked around by changing the Output Mode back and forth. I also heard that tweaking Pipewire config can help as well, but didn't anything on my system alone.

I typically use Glorious Eggroll's Proton version as it usually provides better performance over the Steam version.

Runs very smooth with FSR 3 enabled in Quality mode on my hardware. Without FSR 3 enabled, you can feel the micro-stutters. Your experience may vary depending on your hardware and software setup.
I was able to get to the menu and create a character. However it crashed when starting a new world then crashes on startup after that.
After some troubleshooting I found that installing the "amdvlk" package let Valheim start without issue. I was working solely on "vulkan-radeon" when it wasn't working. This works on Arch Linux, so I can't speak for any other distro. You can also use the launch option "Play Valheim using OpenGL" and that works without issue too.
