The native version appeared to not support the resolution of my monitor (1080p max) so i did not do to much testing with this. I uninstalled and reinstalled using Proton 4-11-2 and performance seems very solid eg solid 60 fps with all settings to max. Had an issue relating to my setup where i had to force the refresh rate of my monitor to 59.95 from auto otherwise i got 24 fps , however i've had that once before on a different game , so games seem ok with auto refresh rate and others not.
Game was playing great just couple of days ago - getting 60fps in most areas with high settings , not sure if there was an update or not but now only running with esync disabled will work and have no graphical corruption . If i run with Esync enabled eg default settings i get a black screen in the game with colour bleeding (menus are ok). Unfortunately this has a large performance impact ( ~ 20-30% ) and hence the stuttering is a lot worse than prior . Tried older kernels , older drivers , reinstalling the game and its still the same result.
Ok its back to great again - after all the colour bleeding black screen issue i was having , i restarted in windows 1080p mode and this time with esync enabled , this time i had minor graphical corruption , namely half of my character was not shown but everything else was perfect . After a cut scene the full character was shown and i played for 2 hours more and it was flawless. Hopefully it stays this way.
