It runs well enough out of the box, but shows signs that it may experience some performance issues in heavier rendering areas. The loadtimes will look like they freeze at first, but will send you right into gameplay in seconds, and looks to not be experiencing any issues. Don't hesitate to tweak for best results, but if you don't care about frame rate, the stock settings work perfectly thus far, but keep in mind the prior mentioned possible performance issues.
This has been an issue before and is likely an issue with Steam itself, Everspace 2 works perfectly, and smoothly, especially compared to past builds. Rockfish has been doing an outstanding job working to optimize the game, and while it is not needed, GE can help some launch issues reported if experienced. But otherwise, out of the box experience is good! 20-28 FPS on High, 19 on Epic, and Med and Low are playable, but virtually unreadable. Scalers to preference.
