Game couldn't load my Windows save game
Out-of-the-box opens up but doesnt enter the game, after tinkering doesn't even open
Tried to install dotnet40 and xna40, however dotnet40 was "already installed" somehow
I used the tinkers down below correcly, but installing them made the game not run, as with putting any kind of launch options.
Works after thorough tinkering, install the packages listed and play. If you can run vulkan it's runnable, older pcs may not run.
PROTON_LOG=1 gamemoderun %command%
Right click on the game, then hit Manage, then Browse Local Files, then open up a terminal inside the folder (right-clicking may show that option), then run the command below WINEPREFIX="$PWD/../../compatdata/434570/pfx" winetricks dotnet40 xna40
Fullscreen windowed didn't align well, may be a Wayland problem though
Installing the wine-mono
package may be of use too, and using ProtonGE is recommended as it has specific fixes for the game, altough not necessary; Works great after tinkering!
gamemoderun %command% -exec autoexec.cfg
Great stutters if Nvidia Reflex is enabled in any mode, don't enable Nvidia Reflex
gamemoderun gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -e -f --force-grab-cursor --adaptive-sync -- %command% +com_skipIntroVideo 1
Without gamescope, pressing ENTER would cycle between windowed and fulscreen instead of selecting
Without gamescope the game has a few bugs that hinder the experience, for some reason mangohud also kills performance for me, but am on Wayland running with gamescope and I get around 90fps with VRR enabled and no problems whatsoever!
Proton is very much equal to Windows, and a very pleasant experience with multiplayer working as intended! Native doesn't boot at all.
gamemoderun WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" DXVK_STATE_CACHE=1 %command% -nologos
Using MangoHud completely broke my framerates, they were high (around 90-110 fps) but moving the mouse presented horrible choppyness, the fix was removing MangoHud entirely or setting at least MANGOHUD_CONFIG="fps_limit=your_fps,vsync=2"
MangoHud and especially Gamescope will give odd behaviours, Turn off NVIDIA PCSS and Depth of Field for greater performance. Use V-sync if you have Freesync or G-sync, it has no big input lag, a little bit sure but looks and feels great though!
Works just fine with Proton GE, Variable Refresh Rate works with v-sync 1 frame too and framerate is as stable as on windows!
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Works as well as on Windows, use Proton as Native is no good, for mod support use the launch options, multiplayer works normally!
gamemoderun WINEDLLOVERRIDES="wsock32=n,b" %command% -skip_intro
Installed wsock23.dll for modding with SuperBLT
Infinite loading screens due to a mod that used to work in Windows
Running Vanilla will work very much great, you'll only need to be smart with your mods as the usual crash.txt debugging file doesn't exist which makes things very harder to debug, other than that it all runs great!
I just had to change "MouseSensitivity" to a value lower than 1, as mouse movement is much sensitive in the Linux version.
Fullscreen Windowed just doesn't work, complete Fullscreen is fine enough, maybe Gamescope settings can fix the issue.
Use Native as it has way better performance, maybe put a 0.5 value inside "MouseSensitivity" in the "User.ini" file, and enjoy this amazing game!
Runs very well, the new Vulkan implementation is a game-changer, got a 13.5% performance uplift for free!
-windowed -noborder -novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars -noquicktime
Installed Mastercom's Masterconfig for performance uplift
Worked exactly as on windows
If you have a Vulkan capable machine it's a straight upgrade, works great!
Works just fine with the tinkers, probably the same performance as Windows with this hardware.
gamemoderun %command%
May be my hardware, but wide open areas like the start of the game tanked my FPS, the rest of the game ran great
Game froze in the main menu without "Steam Runtime" launch option enabled in the Heroic settings
Enable Steam Runtime and use ProtonGE on Heroic to have a good time
