Game window is very small at launch
Go to the Performance menu while you're running the game and set the scaling mode to "Fit" and the scaling filter to "Pixel", and you're good to go (unless you like your game window the size of an ant lol). I also highly recommend using the community layout mentioned above if you prefer to play with a controller or a Deck, as this game does not have an official layout at the moment and it defaults to the WASD layout, which is missing some keybinds
I can't minimize the window without the game giving a permanent black screen once you open it again, the only solution I know to fix this is by restarting the game
If i don't minimize the window the game works just like my native games did. I don't know if any other version of Proton fixes this, though
SteamDeck=1 %command%
30fps in menu and about 10fps during the tutorial/gameplay BY DEFAULT
I have played this both on my Steam Deck and my linux laptop running Nobara 37. As others stated, the game runs with zero issues on Deck, but i had severe FPS issues on my laptop which made the game basically unplayable, BUT this can be solved by spoofing a Steam Deck by adding SteamDeck=1 %command% to the launch options. This makes the save selection menu to be sped-up, but the rest of the game runs at the correct framerate. Hope this issue can be solved anytime soon, but I found this to be the best solution (for now) to play this awesome game under Linux :)

Without the Steam Deck launch command, the game still remains unplayable with very low FPS on the stages
I already reported on this game the day it came out, but i wanted to test it again without the spoofing launch command and using the latest GE Proton version in case things changed for the Linux desktop... but nah, it's still the same lol. As other people stated, the launch command is necessary if you want to enjoy the game on non-Deck devices; in fact, I've been able to reach up to 144fps that way!
Also, the Gamemode command is not strictly required for a game like this, but I like adding it to all my games. Just remember to install the package from your distro's repos in case you want to try it out yourself :D
