I got around 20FPS
I also tried with Proton-6.21-GE-2 and that didn't improve things. Unplayable with FPS this low.
Ran almost perfectly out of the box completely vanilla for me par usual New Vegas instability
Ran perfectly in windowed mode Steam overlay would cause the game to bug out but alt tabbing to another window and back in and hitting esc worked to close the overlay
Crashes were few and far in-between and perhaps something I'd be more keen to blame on New Vegas rather than Linux/Proton
Recommend using the .ini fix to disable mouse acceleration
If you don't mind playing in windowed mode New Vegas on Proton is quite a good experience
