I can't speak for Linux PCs, but the game is designed with controller as a focus so runs and looks great on the Steam Deck.

I had to enable full screen via the in-game settings before the game would match the screen (Deck) but otherwise no issues.
Runs flawlessly after switching to full screen in-game.

Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: GE-Proton8-25
Change to GE-Proton, run setup when launching game, set resolution to 1280 x 800 and click fullscreen, change nothing else, hit OK and enjoy. No need to mess around with files or anything.
