If you follow the tips posted here, the game will run as expected in 4:3 format. Videos will also play normally.
Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: GE-Proton8-32, protontricks
Run protontricks, choose "change settings" and check the "renderer=gdi" option. That's all you need. Game will work perfectly and videos will play as expected.
Running protontricks and setting the renderer option to GDI fixed videos not playing for me. Apart from that, the game plays as you'd expect.

Default Proton options do not work. Changing to Proton 8.0-2 makes the game launch and work as expected (or GE Proton 8)

Game runs at 60 FPS maxed out on the Steam deck. Can't complain about performance at all. Battery performance TBD, the game literally launched 10 minutes ago.
