Unfortunately the AntiCheat-Software will prohibit Online-Play. Bypass the launcher by using the provided protonfixes command.
Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: 7.2-GE-2, protonfixes
util.replace_command('start_protected_game.exe', 'eldenring.exe')
Otherwise make sure to rename your game's executable from eldenring.exe to start_protected_game.exe if you want to play with the Steams default Proton versions.
This may cause issues when updating the game later though...
