Just use Vulcan for god's sake! frame rate is more than double I'd guess (I did not measure).
At some point when I started the game, it had turned to "windowed mode" and suuuper tiny, but I dragged it by the cornor and changed the settings back to full screen, and everything was fine again.
I changed the settings to use Vulcan instead of OpenGL, which worked fine, and resulted in very noticeable performance improvement, however one mission kept crashing in the same place. I changed back to OpenGL, completed the mission, and then back to Vulcan, and I haven't had any problems since.
Works well, though a bit slugish, I expect that it could be optimized better, though it could be a linux issue. (I have a GTX1070, so not new, but should still be plenty for this.) No ultra wide support, but works fine with black bars on the sides.
I used the "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" as described by someone else, and everything worked perfectly. The game did not launch properly with no launch option, though something did run in the background, secondly I used a different launch option forcing d3d, and some graphics did not load, including the main character, but with the option mentioned above everything worked perfectly.
Ran perfectly, after adding the "-changedir" launch option as proposed by someone else here.
Great game, works flawlessly through proton as far as I can tell. Still shame on the developers for discontinuing the native Linux build.
All my configurations were lost when I changed to the windows version, but I guess that is somewhat excusable. I still seemed to have all my items though.
