Some in-engine cutscenes near the end got pretty choppy but it could have easily been a regular optimization issue.
There's now also a native linux build that I haven't tested.
The game won't work in fullscreen on the Cinnamon DE. To get it to launch in windowed mode, I had to change the config file: locate the proton prefix directory (in steamapps/compatdata, search for "origin" or "titanfall" to find what folder it's in) In the prefix, go to "pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Respawn/Titanfall2/local" and open videoconfig.txt. Change setting.fullscreen to 0. Optionally, you can set setting.defaultresheight to your screen height - the titlebar height - the taskbar height. This prevents the game from being cut off.
Mostly plug-and-play, had a few issues getting origin to start up but verifying the game cache and changing the proton version fixed that somehow. Fullscreen doesn't work on the Cinnamon DE but hopefully this will be fixed in cinnamon 5.4..
The Cinnamon DE used to have issues with fullscreen, but that seems to be fixed on the latest version.
If you're using an old version of the Cinnamon DE, this is what I did to force the game to start in windowed mode:
Locate the proton prefix directory (in steamapps/compatdata, search for "origin" or "titanfall" to find what folder it's in) In the prefix, go to "pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Respawn/Titanfall2/local" and open videoconfig.txt. Change setting.fullscreen to 0. Optionally, you can set setting.defaultresheight to your screen height - the titlebar height - the taskbar height. This prevents the game from being cut off.
